Can I eat here? = INFORMAL

4. Showing Abilities using Modals : Can / Could


Ex :
I can play the piano = PRESENT
I could play the piano when I was 10 = PAST

5. Expressing Preference using Modals : Would Rather


Ex :
I would rather sleep than eat
I’d rather eat spaghetti
I’d rather not tell you

Sama aja kayak “prefer”


Ex :
I prefer coffee to tea

6. Expressing Necessity using Modals : Must, Have/Has to


Ex :
