Footing BBS

The document provides information on calculating bar bending schedules including: 1. Details on steel reinforcement such as densities, diameters, and unit weights of bars. 2. Formulas for calculating the volume and unit weight of steel bars based on their diameter and density. 3. Guidelines for coverings used in footings, columns, beams, and slabs. 4. A process for calculating the length of bars, number of bars required, and developing bar schedules for reinforced concrete elements like footings based on their dimensions and spacing of bars.

BAR BENDING SCHEDULE

STEEL REINFORCEMENT
• Density of steel = 7850kg/cum
• Length of steel bar = 12 Mt/40 feet
• Dia of steel = 8mm
• 10mm
• 12mm
• 16mm
• 20mm
• 25mm
• 32mm
• To know Unit Weight formulae is d²/162.
• To get unit weight of 8mm substitute 8mm value in above formulae = 8²/162=0.39kg/mt
• We all know that density of Steel is 7850 kg /Cum
• Volume = Area x Lengthx7850
• Shape of Steel is Circle
• Area of Circle = πd²/4
• Volume = πd²/4(Area) x 1 Metre (Length)
• To get Unit weight of 8mm bar substitute values in above
• =(3.14x(8/1000)²/4)x1x7850
• =0.39kg/Metre

• = 3.14 x d² x 7850/4x(10³)²
• = 3.14 x 7850 x d²/4000000
• = 24649d²/4000000
• =d²/162.2=say d²/162

COVERING

• A uniform gap or space between mesh and shuttering plate called as covering.
• Covering differs with structure
• Footing – 50mm, Mat footing – 75mm
• Column – 40mm
• Beam – 25mm
• Slab – 20mm
FOOTING BBS CALCULATION

1) Length of X bar = Total L – Covering of Either Side + Ld(Development Length)x2

• Ld=Depth of Footing –Top and Bottom Cover.
• No of X Bars = Opposite Length/spacing+1
2) Length of Y Bars = Total L(length of Breadth) - Covering of Either Side +
Ld(Development Length)x2
• Ld=Depth of Footing –Top and Bottom Cover.
• No of Y Bars = Opposite Length/spacing+1
FOOTING BBS CALCULATION
1) How to find No Individual Dia bar ?
We know Standard length of bar = 12 mt
We know Standard unit weight of a bar
For Example a) 12mm unit weight = 0.88kg/mt
For One bar = 12 x 0.88
= 10.56 Kg/Bar
b) 16mm unit weight = 1.58kg/mt
For One bar = 12 x 1.58
= 18.96 Kg/Bar
c) 20 mm unit weight = 2.46kg/mt
For One bar = 12 x 2.46
= 29.62 Kg/Bar
FOOTING BBS CALCULATION
1) How to find No Individual Dia bar ?

For Example a) 12mm unit weight = 0.88kg/mt

For One bar = 12 x 0.88
= 10.56 Kg/Bar

b) 16mm unit weight = 1.58kg/mt

For One bar = 12 x 1.58
= 18.96 Kg/Bar
c) 20 mm unit weight = 2.46kg/mt
For One bar = 12 x 2.46
= 29.62 Kg/Bar
