MANAGEMENT

Facilitator : Jesus F. Vilamor IV

Why Events?
• Events can offer a
rewarding career, or
an exciting new field
of study that includes
business, marketing,
hospitality and many
other skills.
Explore the six key elements to find out why I love
events, and think you will too.
Dynamic Industry
• Events create real emotional and physical
experiences for everyone involved, keeping
them the number one option for making an
impact.
Diverse Roles
• With so many different elements in the
planning, delivery and analysis stages, the
event comprises a huge number of different
roles, with a need for a great variety of skill
sets:

 Directors and other managers

 Creative designers .
 Operational support
 Marketers and salespeople
Rewarding Careers
• The event industry has its roots in people;
through a career in events you'll meet
people from all walks of life and from
various different sectors and industries. You
may well also find yourself working in the
most extraordinary to the most humble
places and venues in the world - and the
pay isn't too bad either.
Personal Growth
• Confidence, adaptability, patience and strong
relationships are characteristics that many event
managers and professionals share as a
consequence of their careers.
What is Event Management?

• Have you ever wondered how an

Olympic Games Opening Ceremony
comes to life? Did you join the millions
of people across the world who
watched as Kate Middleton said 'I do'?
Or have you ever stood at, watched and
loved a fireworks display?
• Behind all of these and more,
event management professionals
work tirelessly to create the best
experience possible for the
guests, the stars, the sponsors &
stakeholders, and the spectators.

Event management is the co-

ordination, running and planning
of all the people, teams and
features that come together to
create every kind of event.
 Promotion – it relies on correct information
about the event and the sponsors.
 Advertising- it should target a sense of
excitement
 Budgeting – it lays the groundwork of the event
Security – safety and well-being of guests

Invitation – at least 3 weeks before the event

Decoration – visual sense of cohesiveness

Flowers – it imparts a sense of formality to an event

Site Selection – it relates to the event function, and the

degree of surety required for the event to proceed
 Floor Plan – adequate traffic zones

 Speakers – they will draw in guests

 Food – the theme plays an important role

• DJs – an initiator
• Transportation - There are events that
providing transportation is a necessity
• Gifts – wrapped and labeled accordingly
Furniture – dependent upon the vent itself
Limousines – VIPs
Sound – it must be sufficient and adequate
Fireworks – insurance is a primary concern
Lighting – attracts attention
Bands – book in advance
Internet Access - PRIORITY
