Calcium Formate: Powdered Accelerator

Calcium formate is a powdered accelerator additive that improves the strength development and adhesion properties of cement-based mortars. It acts to accelerate both the setting and hardening times of concrete and tile adhesives by speeding the formation of tricalcium aluminate silicate. Calcium formate also modifies the initial workability of wet mortars. It is used in cement systems requiring improved early or later strength, especially those containing setting time retarders or cellulose ethers.
