Essential Questions
 What is the role of the cooperating school principal in the teaching internship program?
The role of the Cooperating School Principal is to provide the social and professional aspects of administering practice
teaching.
 What are the school’s expectations of the teacher candidates who are placed in their
school for teaching internship? (1) The teacher candidates should be familiar with and embody the five
teacher dispositions: Positive Outlook, Intellectual Integrity, Respect, Self-Awareness, and Dedication. (2) The teacher
candidates should be familiar with the Most Essential Learning Competencies (MELCS). (3) Always think what’s best
for students. (4) Follows the schools Mission, Vision and Goals. (5) Love Teaching Profession.
 What tools do I need to bring in terms of KASH (Knowledge, Attitudes, Skills and Habits?
Knowledge to improve my level of intelligence, wisdom and ability in understanding various concepts. In order to
deliver an accurate information to my learners. Attitudes to keep me going to be motivated in expanding my knowledge,
attitude, skills and habits. Having positive attitudes will also make my learners motivated towards learning. Skills to
create a positive environment for learning. Habits will drive me to great performance. Positive habits are an important
factor to develop because the personal payoff in a career and success are determined by daily habits.

Understandings
Teaching interns are placed in the real world of work called Cooperating Schools.
They are placed under the tutelage of the expert teachers in the school community.
The Cooperating Principal has expectations of and from prospective teachers who
are placed in their school for teaching internship.
The role of the cooperating Principal is to oversee the effective implementation of
the teaching internship program. The orientation with the Cooperating Principal is a must
for him/her to discuss the school’s policies and procedures to be followed to foster
harmonious relationship with the wider school community.

If I would have given a chance to become a principal someday, the qualities or attributes that I must possess are:
Clear vision. I should have a clear vision. I should be a continuous learner and also adapt to new trends. A principal
stands among his/her peers. It is the job of the principal to see that teachers gets comfortable and also feel motivated to
improve continuously.
Leadership. I must exhibit exemplary leadership qualities for others to follow. A principal should at all times find new
ways to improve his schools no matter the difficulties at hand.
Excellent Listener. I must be focused and attentive and be always prepared to deal with whatever situations may arise.
Fair and Consistent. I should be credible in handling situations. I should have an standard approach for how to handle
situations.
Bridge Builder. I should be able to connect people together and find ways to earn their trust. I should be also organized
and focused.
