“Unity is strength when there is teamwork and collaboration, wonderful things can be
achieved.”
Making better things happen in school lies in the hands of the leader whose service in inevitable
especially when it is for the attainment of the educational goal. But not to forget the teachers’
collaborative effort and other stakeholders’ support that makes a year of learning truly a success. In
this scenario, school-based management is evident as governance is shared by the school and
community stakeholders.
I truly believe that school is one of the most significant unit in the society, and as learning
institution, provision of better quality education to students must be done for they will be the future
generations who are expected to be productive and great contributor to become our country more
progressive. In this view, the school wants the students to succeed in their endeavors. And this will
only be realized if the leader of the school and teachers will give attention on specific goals and
innovations. Thus, making a lifelong learning makes a difference.
The personnel of Gatid Elementary School in the District of Santa Cruz is really exerting their
efforts to make learning effective and successful. Victory and failure are the results of their invaluable
commitment in fulfilling DepEd Mission and Vision. But failures are not hindrance to strive more
instead serve as motivation for them to step move forward and make innovative programs and
projects.
In this 3-year cycle of School Improvement Plan, we are looking forward for more
accomplishments and activities to be undertaken with so much passion and perseverance in
performing the tasks of improving student’s performance and meet the expectations of the agency and
stakeholders as well. Certainly, all of these will not be possible as ever without the combined
immeasurable efforts and support of the School Planning Team, School Governing Council , Project
Teams, PTA and other stakeholders. Accept my deepest gratitude and let’s continue to make a
difference in the lives of hundreds pupils here in our beloved school.
CHAPTER I
Department of Education Vision, Mission and Core Values
VISION
MISSION
CORE VALUES
February 4, 2019 was the first meeting of the School Planning Team for the orientation of the
SIP process and vision sharing relative to the DepEd Mission, Vision, Core Values and Division
Goals as well. For better understanding of SIP and smooth flow of the meeting, SIP videos were
watched by the SPT. The team were amazed and enlightened of their roles in crafting SIP. They
realized the importance of each of them in the SIP journey. After the viewing of the videos, the vision,
mission core values of the DepEd were presented to SPT for them to reflect and give them
opportunities to tell what each one can do to realize the aforementioned statements. The following
affirmations were noted:
1. They believed that pupils should develop nationalism and patriotism because these are
essentials since they are uncontrollably exposed to modern technologies that promote
colonial mentality.
2. Pupils should be taught in school about good manners and right conduct that will help
them develop desirable attitudes in dealing with others.
3. They stated that school as second home of the pupils needs to provide better learning
environment that will hone their skills and ability for the improved performance in all
learning areas.
4. Safety and security of the pupils should also be prioritized.
5. They cited that school should be vigilant on some issues about bullying among learners
and should be immediately addressed to avoid conflicts.
6. Teachers should take full responsibility of the learners inside the classroom.
7. Teachers are responsible for all the learning of the pupils.
8. Communication and coordination between teachers and parents are necessary especially
with regards to children’s academic performance and behaviour.
9. Make sure that school’s facilities are available, functional and maintained.
10. Pupils should be taught about waste management.
