1 DRAFTING GENERAL
Drawing content shall be accurate, complete, unambiguous, easily understood and clearly legible when reproduced at the size
normally required by users.
All drawings are to be prepared:
In the English language.
In metric units:
o Length in millimetres
o Elevation in metres, shown as, eg RL295.150.
In accordance with AS 1100 Technical Drawing and this Standard. If conflict occurs this Standard takes precedence.
New drawings shall be created according to the following list of applications (exceptions by agreement with the LD):
2 SHEET SIZE
Sheet Size Comments
A0 Normally only PFDs, P&IDs, and electrical schematics (with WPD approval)
A1 Preferred size
A3 Preferred size for simple machined components, pipe spools, minor modifications, etc
Avoid mixing sheet sizes for drawings in the same series.
3 SCALE
Where possible drawing output at full size should be TO SCALE. Piping isometrics, whilst not to scale, should be in
approximate proportion.
The scale shall be indicated in the title block, eg 1:50 if the whole drawing is to one scale, 1:50 UNO indicating the
predominant scale, and NTS (not to scale) as applicable.
All 3D modelling is 1:1 Scale – Drawing outputs to suit “Preferred Scaling” where applicable
It shall be clear what scale each view or detail is.
New drawings shall normally be the same scale as previous drawings of the same plant location.
Preferred scales are as follows:
Preferred Scales
1:1 1:2 1:2.5 * 1:5
1:10 1:20 1:25 * 1:50
1:100 1:200 1:250 * 1:500
1:1000 1:2000 1:2500 * 1:5000
* Do not use 1:2 and 1:2.5, 1:20 and 1:25, etc, and on same sheet.
Exceptions to the above, by agreement with the LD.
Text shall be upper case ISO.ttf. Lower case shall be used for units and chemical symbols, eg kPa (kilopascal), Cu (copper), in
line with International convention.
Isometrics shall also use 30° or -30° sloping, to suit right and left faces.
Normal text heights are as follows:
Exceptions to these sizes are indicated in the later clauses for specific drawing disciplines or must be agreed with the LD.
Use text formatting to underline text. In AutoCAD TEXT or DTEXT modes use %%U.
Avoid unnecessary punctuation.
4.2 LINEWORK
5 ABBREVIATIONS
Abbreviations shall be to AS 1100, Appendix 1 of this Specification, or the Standard Drawings. Full stops are not used unless
needed to avoid ambiguity and to separate consecutive sentences.
General notes shall be numbered, grouped and normally placed above, and lined up with, the title block, refer Figure 18.
(Mechanical components, electrical schematics and instrument loops have special sheet layouts, refer Figures 21-22). The
note number shall be a separate text entity to the note.
Where practical, put general notes on the first drawing in a series, with cross-references on other drawings.
7 MATERIAL INDICATION
Use cross-hatching and other material identification patterns sparingly. Hatch lines spaced too close will produce poor reduced
size prints.
8 DRAWING LAYOUT
For drawing layout refer Figures 18-22.
A location plan shall be added on the first drawing in each discipline set, where it will help users to locate the work within the
Plant.
Use third angle projection. Other than for mechanical components, views should not be drawn on their side, ie horizontal planes
should be drawn horizontally.
9 DRAWING CONTENT
Worsley’s drawing philosophy is to cover the design adequately with the minimum of detailing.
Use cross-references to details on Standard Drawings wherever practical.
Do not duplicate dimensions and information.
Use Worsley supplied standard symbols where available.
Avoid overcrowding a drawing.
10 DRAWING CROSS-REFERENCES
10.1 GENERAL
Drawings for a project or assembly must be well cross-referenced. A full list of appropriate reference drawings should be shown
on the first drawing in each discipline set. The other drawings in the set shall carry a cross-reference to that first sheet. In
addition to referencing other drawings in the set, other useful drawings of the same plant area should be referenced, such as
Piping General Arrangements (GAs) that show the original Plant prior to modification.
Remember, Plant drawings are not just for construction, they need to be referenced to assist users to quickly locate drawings
for maintenance or modification at any time during the life of the Plant.
Vendor drawings shall be cross-referenced by the Worsley drawing number. In the case of older drawings using a Worsley
Sub-contract/Control number they shall be referenced by that number (eg 60050 - 0020).
Proprietary items should be fully described and identified by the MAKER'S part number, NOT the supplier's reference.
Where a proprietary item is listed “OR EQUIVALENT” the drawings should be “as built” to reflect the actual item used.
Prior to the 3.1 Expansion (1997 - 2000), Worsley drawing numbers consisted of three elements, eg 300-P-10001. From 1997
onwards drawing numbers have been prefixed by the D- document type identifier (DM- for hidden line drawings generated from
PDS models). Since then there has been confusion about the format of drawing numbers used in cross-references. The
following now applies:
11 TITLE BLOCKS
Refer to Figures 7 to 12 for examples of the required format for Worsley title blocks.
The title shall follow a hierarchical order, eg
CLARIFICATION & CAUSTICIZATION *
Facility name (refer Clause 16) FIRST STAGE WASHERS T033111, 211
Equipment name and number(s) INLET FEED PIPE
MODIFICATION DETAILS
Drawing subject
Type of drawing
* Note that early Plant drawings showed the Facility Number in the first title line. It is no longer shown where the Facility
Number is included in the drawing number.
A3 sheets have only three title lines. To accommodate four title elements, two title elements can be shown on one line,
separated by “space-dash-space”, eg
Equipment numbers should be shown in the drawing title where appropriate and practical, as shown in the title examples above.
For mechanical spare part component drawings they should also be indicated in the technical data strip across the bottom of the
sheet.
The Registration Number of Classified Equipment shall be included in title where practical (refer to Figure 11).
12 DRAWING NUMBERS
Drawing numbers are issued by the Worsley Drawing Office Document Control on Document Request Form (00109184), and
appear thus:
D - 045 - M - 10001*
Sequential No
Discipline
Facility No
Document Designator
13 CAD GENERAL
DRAW ACCURATELY AND FULL SIZE.
Draw in Model Space with border, notes, dimensions and title in Paper Space. Drawings of a schematic nature (eg P&IDs,
electrical and instrument diagrams, etc) shall be entirely in Model Space.
Do not have unnecessary duplication of entities on top of each other.
Do not extend a straight line by adding segments.
Where possible avoid dimension lines, leaders and other line work from passing through text. In practice this can be difficult to
achieve in all cases but all text must be legible.
13.2 BLOCKS/CELLS
14 INVENTOR
Use the Worsley supplied “build”.
14.1 LAYERS
The following layers are provided with the Worsley supplied “build”, for use with schematic and 2D drawings:
To define an entity colour (and thereby line thickness in AutoCAD) use the appropriate layer. The Color command should be
set to Bylayer, except as mentioned in Section 14.3.
When revising existing drawings to indicate new work (eg P&IDs, piping or structural layouts), the existing information shall by
changed by Bycolor to grey Color 8. New work is drawn on the normal layers L2, L3, etc, with Color Bylayer. At project
completion the drawing shall be “as built” with all entities set to Color Bylayer.
For CAD line types refer Figure 3. Worsley line types are loaded with the template files provided.
Line types are associated with specific Layers, refer Section 14.1. The Linetype command should be set to Bylayer.
The line scales for Paperspace and Modelspace at 1:1 scale are:
1.0 for A0 and A1 sheets
0.7 for A3 sheets.
Use the ISO.TTF font supplied in the Worsley “build”. It is similar to commonly used ISO 3098/B upright fonts but the capital "I"
has been modified to make it more distinguishable (particularly important on electrical cable numbering).
In the Worsley prototype drawings this font is used to create the ISO style (with a 1.0 width factor). Thirty degree forward and
backward slanted versions of this style (ISOL and ISOR) should also be used with 2D isometric drawings.
14.6 SYMBOLS
Symbols must be in accordance with Worsley's Standard Drawings. Use the Worsley supplied CAD symbol libraries where
possible. Worsley symbols shall not be exploded, modified or renamed. New symbols should conform to existing
layer/size/scale/insertion point conventions.
14.7 BORDERS
Drawing borders shall be inserted as a Block with origin at 0,0,0 and scale of 1.0. Borders shall be inserted in Paperspace
except that drawings of an entirely schematic nature, such as electrical single line diagrams, may be completed in Modelspace.
The border shall not be bound, exploded, modified or renamed. The drawings in a set must be consistent.
15 MICROSTATION
For Microstation drafting Worsley uses Microstation V8i “Select Series” and Suppliers shall use the Worsley Standard
“Microstation Build” stored in the Autodesk Vault. (C:\0files\Work Space\z WAPL Cad
Standards\Standard_Microstation\Microstation Build). This build has Levels similar to the Worsley AutoCAD Layer system.
For 3D modelling refer to S-001-D-002 - 3D Engineering Modelling Standards.
The following layers are provided with the Worsley supplied “Microstation Build”, primarily for use with schematic and 2D
drawings:
Note 1: Level DEFAULT has special properties relating to Cells and should not be used for general drafting.
Note 2: Dimension line work should be red/0.25 thickness for all sheet sizes. Entities on level DM depart from the colour
Bylevel system.
Note 3: Cross-hatching will normally be in red/0.25mm line width. In special cases a thicker line may be required in which case
the level name should reflect the line width, eg H3, H5, etc.
The above Levels, and the Bylevel method of determining colour and line type, form the core of a system that should
accommodate most 2D Microstation drafting undertaken by Worsley. When desirable this system can be expanded by adding a
descriptive suffix to the above levels, eg:
L2-CONCRETE For concrete work
L5-PIPING For new piping work
For some drawings alternative Level conventions may be required. Confirm details with the LD when the need arises.
To define an entity colour (and thereby line thickness) use the appropriate LEVEL. The COLOR command should be set to
Bylevel, except as mentioned in section 14.2.
When revising existing drawings to indicate new work (eg piping or structural layouts), the existing element Attributes shall be
changed to Color 8 (grey). (In a 3D environment, elements can be changed to grey by setting Symbology Overrides to Color
8)".
New work is drawn on the normal Levels L2, L3, etc, with Color Bylevel.
At project completion the drawing shall be “as built” with all entities set to Color Bylevel.
For CAD line types refer Figure 3. Worsley line types are loaded with the seed files provided.
Line types are associated with specific Levels, refer Section 14.1. The Linetype command should be set to Bylevel.
The line scales for Model and Sheet Views shall be at 1:1 scale.
15.5 SYMBOLS
Symbols used must be in accordance with Worsley's Standard Drawings. Use the Worsley supplied CAD symbol libraries
(*.CEL) where possible from the “Microstation Build” - Refer Section 15.0. New symbols should conform to existing
Level/size/scale/insertion point conventions.
When new symbols are required to be created and stored this can be arranged with the DOS.
15.6 BORDERS
Drawing borders shall be inserted as an X-ref with origin at 0,0,0 and scale of 1.0. Borders shall be inserted in Paperspace
except that drawings of an entirely schematic nature, such as electrical single line diagrams, may be completed in Modelspace.
The border shall be bound. The drawings in a set must be consistent.
X-ref Views and Models, such as 3D models or layouts, etc, may be used as reference data to be used to create piping and
mechanical layouts, etc.
New 3D models being referenced to create detailed drawings, are to be located in the following folder: C:\0files\Work
Space\Microstation (Create folder by navigating within Autodesk Vault, right click on folder, then select “Go to Working Folder”.
Refer to S-001-D-002 - 3D Modelling Standards.
If generated hidden lines or line exports have been used (ie Microstation .hln files or exported visible edges), the reference
drawings or models are to be either bound to the CAD native file, or that reference “turned off” in the xref display dialogues.
If references are only “turned off” these reference files are to be provided with either the project file or pre-arranged folder
structure as discussed with the DOS, to allow for correct Autodesk Vault Check In and adding of files. Refer to S-001-D-002 -
3D Modelling Standards.
Prior to completion or handover to Worsley X-ref information shall be bound or xref files provided in full.

Customer/Project Engineer (Proj Eng)
During the Refinery expansions (3.1MTpA – 3.1 Kaiser Bechtel Expansion, 3.5MTpA – DCP Development Capital Project &
4.6MTpA – E&G Efficiency & Growth), the Refinery piping and equipment was placed into a 3D model environment Intergraph
PDS. Because of the large size of the model it was decided that the X (Easting) and Y (Northing) co-ordinates be altered to not
go out of the software’s boundary limits.
The PDS model used a truncated form of the Refinery Plant Grid system, as explained below.
These models have all been moved so that the MicroStation and PDS co-ordinate readouts match the last 6 digits of the
Refinery Plane Grid co-ordinate readout.
Eg PDS/MicroStation readout of E 3,200,000mm; N 1,800,000mm; EL 300,000mm is real coordinate of E(41)3,200,000mm;
N(632)1,800,000mm; EL 300,000mm.
See model No. mm300L1001. [The prefix (in brackets) will be added as a static label for Drawing Manager Labels.]
The reference grid layout model numbered mm300L1001.dgn can be attached from the PDS drive
\\waplpds\wapleg\mstn\mod\layout\ folder.
The site layout reference models are numbered mm300L1002.dgn and mm300l4601.dgn and can be attached from the PDS
drive \\waplpds\wapleg\mstn\mod\layout\ . This includes the Refinery Plane Grid survey bench marks.
The terrain reference model is numbered mm300Y4601.dgn and can be attached from the PDS drive
\\waplpds\wapleg\mstn\mod\layout\mstn\mod\csa . This is based on a terrain model by E&G.
A PDS seed file “mdlsdz.dgn” in the PDS drive \\waplpds\wapleg\mstn\mod\pd was given to “Surtech” to provide scan data to
the refinery, which is a reference grid DGN drawing so they can correctly locate their scan.
When receiving underground services survey data from either a surveying consultant (eg Thompsons), a third party (eg
Catalanos), or major project (eg E&G), it is important to place this information within our “300-G” underground services
drawings, so we have the most indicative representation of what is out in the Refinery.
These drawings are used for information and coordination with employees and contractors who require:
Excavation permits for digging in a specific area;
LIQUOR.dgn
OVERHEAD ELEC.dgn
PLANT AIR.dgn
POTABLE WATER.dgn
SEWER RISING MAIN.dgn
SEWER.dgn
STORMWATER.dgn
STREET LIGHTING.dgn
TELEPHONE.dgn
UNDERGROUND ELEC.dgn
UNKNOWN PIPING.dgn
These reference files then drive the output of the Refinery underground drawings listed below:

22 CONCRETE DRAWINGS
Refer to notes and details on Standard Drawings commencing D-001-C-10001.
The concrete class shall be indicated in the drawing notes and shall be as defined in Worsley Standard Specification
S-001-C-001 Concrete.
Detail true sections, ie avoid showing unnecessary background detail. Do NOT show material identification in sections with
reinforcement.
Always ensure there is room for the embedded items. For example check the following:
Concrete cover requirements to all faces.
Allowance for slab reinforcement over the beam top bars (they may require extra cover).
Position of the after fixings ("Dynabolt", "Chemset" anchor, etc) meet the manufacturer’s minimum edge distance and
spacing requirements.
Elevations are normally indicated in metres to top of concrete, eg TOC RL310.460.
23 ELECTRICAL DRAWINGS
Refer to notes and details on Standard Drawings, commencing D-001-E-10000.
For numbering purposes electrical drawings are generally assigned (** see exceptions below) to their Electrical Distribution

numbering methods are indicated on Standard Drawing D-001-I-10001. The Worsley Master Data Facilitator issues instrument
tag numbers.
24.6 GENERAL
All Instrument Loop drawings and associated termination drawings must be created using AutoCAD Software.
Instrument drawings to be set out on a 10mm grid using a 2.5mm snap setting using AutoCAD. Refer Figure 46.
Instrument symbology, to be obtained from Worsley Standard Tool Palettes.
25 COMMUNICATION DRAWINGS
25.1 DRAWING NUMBERING
Communications drawings are numbered by Facility and are assigned a discipline ‘x’, eg D-024-X-10035.
Communications drawing types are also assigned specific block allocations depending on the Communications Drawing type.
Block allocations are as follows:
25.2 GENERAL
Communications drawings to be set out on a 10mm grid using a 2.5mm snap setting using AutoCAD.
26 MECHANICAL DRAWINGS
When applicable, mechanical drawings should include the following:
Heat tracing.
Line numbers, eg
250 - SY - 7282 - K - SR
Line Specification, refer S-001-P-001
SR – Denotes Stress Relieve
Unique Line Sequence number
Service, refer S-001-P-001
Nominal pipe size (DN)
For utility branch lines below DN50 the line number may be omitted eg 25-TW-X (treated water branch line).
o V310 where the valve size is apparent from the line size
o 100-V714 smaller flange/thread size for valves such as 100x150-V714
Valve types in majority use shall be covered by a legend, valves in minority use to be identified on the line.
Control and electrical interlock symbols.
Instrument tag number symbols.
Instrument drawing symbols and abbreviations in accordance with the Worsley Standard Drawings.
Line continuation flags or Off Page Connection (OPC) number should matched the continuation sheet.
P&IDs shall follow the following conventions:
Line Sequence Numbers change at branches, change of Fluid Code and change in line size. Note that if the intent is for a
local line size change, then a new Line Sequence Number is not required. Examples of local line size change (without
change of Line Sequence Number) are: reduction for flow metering, reduction at pump inlet and outlet, and local pipe size
change due to angle valves with differing flange sizes.
Control loops (eg multi-loop control) shall be covered by a note.
Primary control elements shall be represented by a single identifier, eg TT represents the thermowell, primary element
(RTD, T/C) and transmitter.
The functionality of the DCS will be represented by a single identifier, which will indicate the primary function of the loop.
The exception to this being an interlock identifier from a secondary DCS function in addition to the priority function.
With lines feeding into an equal Tee it is normal practice to continue the incoming Line Number along one branch of the
Tee (the primary flow route if applicable) and assign a different Line Number to the other branch.
VV025-12345
30 PIPING LAYOUTS
Normally the output shall be at a scale of 1:50. Congested views may be at 1:25.
Piping DN100 and below shall be represented by a single line (may not apply to 3D modelling applications that have their own
conventions).
Pipe sizes DN10, 32, 65 and 125 shall not be used.
Do not label 90º elbows, tees or flanges (unless not to specification).
Label reducers where configuration is not clear, eg ECC RED BF (eccentric reducer, bottom flat).
Show a block outline for equipment such as pumps, with some identifying feature to indicate orientation.
Sections shall show detail at the cut plane and for a short distance beyond.
Indicate pipe support positions with standard symbols and refer to standard details.
31 PIPESPOOL DRAWINGS
Pipespool drawings, Hardfaced or Non-Hardfaced, will normally be drawn on A3 sheets using AutoCAD or Inventor.
Scale 1:5, 1:10 or 1:20
Drawings shall contain the following information as described in Worsley Standard Specification S-001-P-001 (see Figures 26
and 28):
Flange Sizes, Class and Schedule (ie DN500 CL300 STD WT RFWN FLANGE or DN300 CL150 RFSO FLANGE)
Pipe Size, & Schedule (ie DN250 STD WT PIPE, DN500 XS WT PIPE)
o NDT Nos if available to identify spool (NDT numbers from NDT Schematic)
o Material No if available
o Reference P&ID
Flanges with bolt holes that do not straddle centrelines to be clearly noted & detailed (see Figure 26)
Single side elevation of spool ok unless where additional items require detailing, then top and side views are then required
Raised Faces of flanges to be accentuated to give better clarification that dimension lines are attached to raised face and
not bolt face
Insulation note added if insulation is required
32 PIPING ISOMETRICS
Single line system isometric drawings may be used for simple piping runs, in lieu of a piping general arrangement. Whilst not to
Piping layouts to be drawn indicatively from an operator’s general perspective of the plant, not necessarily to scale, as
single lines obliquely (L7), including major equipment (Grey, Colour 8).
Draw schematic with clarity and where possible limit overlapping or crossing lines.
Valves shown where possible, and labelled as per Valve & Blind Isolation drawings, (ie VV-12345).
4 Digit NDT numbers to be allocated and balloons attached to each individual spool location on schematic (new numbers
can be obtained through Master Data).
NDT Schematics are a reference guide only and are not subject to Engineering sign-off but should be endorsed by
Reliability.
34 STRUCTURAL DRAWINGS
Refer to notes and details on the Standard Structural Drawing series, commencing D-001-S-10001.
For method of labelling members refer figure 1. Alternative method use member tables shown on Standard Drawing
D-001-S-10002.
In general, call up beam and horizontal brace sizes on plans and columns and vertical brace sizes on elevations and sections.
Elevations are normally indicated to the top of a structural member, or underside of base plate, eg
TOS RL305.468
U/S BP RL294.900
Welding symbols shall be to AS1101.3.
Specify hardened washer both sides for oversized or slotted holes.
Structural drawings also incorporate all lifting members, frames and beams.
Note 1 Drawings with external reference links must retain the same file name; therefore, the revision number is not included in
the file name.
A non-numbered drawing (graph, presentation diagram, etc) should be named alphanumerically and in a descriptive form, eg
Year Planner blank form yearplan1.dwg (show the path and file name at the bottom left hand corner of the sheet, eg
f:\draw\gene\yearplan1.dwg (text height for A3, A4 sheets = 1.8mm, A0, A1 = 2.5mm).
Temporary drawings and blocks should be given a “junk” name to facilitate deletion of unnecessary files, eg
Junkvalve1.dwg
Drawings created for Worsley by external consultants, vendors and equipment suppliers shall be to this Standard Specification
(except as noted below). Drawings supplied that do not conform may be returned for correction at no cost to Worsley. To assist
suppliers, Worsley Vendor Drawing Data is available, which provides templates, symbol libraries, support files, Standard
Drawings and Standard Specifications. The data is available from the Drawing Office Document Control.
Manufacturing drawings of vendor supplied off-shelf equipment may deviate from these standards; however, they must be
accurate, clear and legible when reproduced at A3 size. Some specific drawing types may also deviate from these standards,
by agreement, eg Isogen piping spool isometrics and Xsteel generated fabrication details. Vendors are encouraged to use
these standards as a guide to their drawing deliverables.
Suppliers shall assign a Worsley drawing number to their drawings. Drawing numbers shall be requested from the Drawing
Office Document Control, on Drawing Number Request Form (00109187) (unless instructed otherwise on large projects). On
large projects, by agreement, there may be exceptions for specific drawing types, eg piping spool isometrics and Xsteel
generated fabrication details.
Suppliers shall approve drawings in their own approval box, adjacent to the title block as agreed, leaving the main revision block
free for Worsley approval.
At the completion of all projects Worsley must be supplied with a full set of certified/approved drawings in as built condition. The
drawings shall be supplied in both native CAD file and PDF file format, with file naming to this Standard. The approval initials
shall be on the CAD file.
CAD Files for Worsley must be importable into the version of AutoCAD (Microstation, Mechanical Desktop by agreement)
currently in use at Worsley.
Put Worsley provided support files in a directory on your software search path. Use FILE NAMES ONLY when referencing
support files in a drawing, do not specify path.
All non-standard referenced files (fonts, menu, line type, external references, etc) must be bound in to the drawing file.
Variations to the Worsley Layer/Level system for 2D drafting must be by agreement only. Whatever the layering system, it must
be consistently applied.
Suppliers are encouraged to use 3D modelling where appropriate.
37 MANUAL DRAFTING
37.1 GENERAL
Worsley’s manual drawings have been scanned to TIFF or PDF format and made available to users via AutoDesk Vault.
All new drawings specifically for Worsley are now created on CAD. However, there may continue to be instances where
vendors provide manual drawings of their proprietary off-shelf equipment. These must be assigned a Worsley drawing number,
be scanned onto TIFF format or PDF.
All revisions to existing manual drawings must be carried out using AutoDesk Raster Design Software, where the TIF image will
be bound to the dwg file, or where possible, the manual drawing to be redrawn using CAD.

General
The Implementation Contractor (IC) shall comply with all the safety requirements of the relevant Standards and Acts listed in
this document. In addition, the IC shall undertake to implement the ‘safety by design’ concept, the objective of which is that risk
shall be minimised by ensuring safety is ‘built’ into the design, and then accurately replicated in the construction.
Safe conditions shall be ensured under all operating conditions, including: those conditions associated with start-up and
shutdown of plant and equipment; and in those conditions where swapping from one valid operating configuration to another
valid operating configuration produces an expected transient overload situation.
The design and construction shall ensure that all operating and maintenance activities can be performed safely and that
convenient access is provided. To achieve this, all designs shall be reviewed for ‘safe constructability’ and ‘safe operability’,
including a review to identify environmental- and design related hazards. If the review identifies high risk hazards, then formal
HAZOP, CHAZOP and/or HAZAN studies shall be carried out.
In addition, risk reviews/workshops shall be conducted to ensure that the outcomes from the design/s will minimise operation
and personnel risk, and that clear and obvious endeavour has been pursued to comply with South32 risk management
requirements.
Construction
Sample text: The safety of personnel carrying out construction and installation work shall be considered in the design stage.
The hazards that will be encountered during construction shall be identified and, as far as possible, minimised by good design.
Particular attention shall be paid, when choosing locations for equipment, to providing safe access for construction workers, and
ongoing (post project) plant maintenance personnel workers.
South32 Standards
South32 Standards prescribe the mandatory performance requirements for the establishment of systems that support
implementation of the South32 Business Conduct and South32 Standards.
These mandates apply to all sites and facilities that are owned or operated by South32, and to all South32 employees and
contractors performing controlled activities.
The South32 Standards that expressly apply to the performance of this Worsley site standard are listed in, but not necessarily
limited to, Appendix 2 – South32 Publications.
Ergonomics
To avoid eye strain, muscular fatigue and discomfort during long CAD sessions it is important to adhere to good work practice,
as follows:
Have your workstation adjusted for best ergonomic advantage.
Relax your eye lens and muscles by regularly looking at an object in the mid to long distance.
Try to intersperse long CAD sessions with alternative tasks that do not involve long periods of concentration on the
computer screen.
