Moving on. Have you ever wondered of how our Globalization is the process by which businesses
world become more globalized? What is your or other organizations develop international
idea of globalization? influence or start operating on an international
scale.

Globalization is the growing interdependence of

the world's economies, cultures, and populations,
brought about by cross-border trade in goods
and services, technology, and flows of
investment, people, and information.

Globalization means the speedup of movements

and exchanges (of human beings, goods, and
services, capital, technologies or cultural
practices) all over the planet.
Very good answers. Globalization involves a
deliberate restructuring of manufacturing, trade,
and services within a system that is global in
scale. In this context, the actors are globally
oriented transnational corporations (TNCs) that
organize their entire production and sales as a
world-wide operation. Thus, it denotes the
changes in societies and the world economy that
are the result of dramatically increased trade and
cultural exchange.

With that being said, in what way did We can observe that here in our country, we
globalization enable or increased cultural and have been greatly influenced by the different
information flow? cultures such as the Korean culture. Wherein,
most of the youth nowadays are fond of their
music, drama, food, etc.

The spread of various culture has been enabled

by the technological information access like the
internet and other global media outlets.

Very good. You are right! Through globalization

we have been more connected with one another
as if the world has shrinked. It provided a faster
spread of information and influences the people
in various cultural aspects.

Cultural and information flows lead to a

globalization of the flow of ideas. Just like also
Western ideas that used to reach other countries
through actual colonization, like when the
Philippines was physically colonized by Spain and
the US, are now transmitted through the Internet
and other modern forms of communication.
Hence, this hastens the spread of new lifestyles,
concepts, and perspectives. This can be seen as
beneficial especially to those who consider ideas
as functionally useful for development and
progress. New information can trigger innovation
and social diffusion.

Aside from that, globalization has also enabled

the physical movement of people, now even
made more possible by developments in
transportation technology. Aside from travelling
for leisure, immigration of people to other
countries has become more prevalent. In the Migration flows are primarily caused by economic

opportunities.

Other Filipinos migrated through their spouses

who are foreigners they met through dating sites
or social media.

Many of them ended up as initially illegal

immigrants with problematic papers. They were
referred to as TNTs (or "Tago nang Tago,"
meaning "always hiding") and these people are
vulnerable to deportation.

That is right. It is important noting that not all

Filipinos abroad are OFWs. Permanent migrants
and students studying abroad are not considered
OFWs. Filipinos who are married to foreign
nationals and are already living in the countries
nationals and are already living in the countries
of their spouses are also not OFWs.
OFWs can experience culture shock and a difficult

where he/she is not a legal resident. What are
some of the challenges that is usually faced by an
OFW?
That is true indeed. While OFW remittances
provide an important economic role. OFWs are
also exposed to human rights abuses from their
employers, and are vulnerable to stress
emanating from cultural differences. For
example, OFWS in Saudi Arabia have to learn how
to restrain their religiosity considering that open
display of the practice of faith other than Islam is
a serious offense. There is a need to address
these challenges that confront the OFW family
left behind in the Philippines, as well as the OFW
working abroad. For families left behind, the
challenge is to offer them more social support
services. For OFWs, the challenge is to offer them
more protection and support as they deal with
foreign cultures and laws.
