INTRODUCTION

The sustainability of digital learning in the new age of technological disruption

and system shift, becomes crucial to the productivity of educational institutions. This
new mechanism is treated with various degrees of exuberance and apprehension by
both students and instructors. With students whom are experienced, self-disciplined and
has higher level to management skills, virtual form of education could be highly
successful substitute method of education. However, it is an inadequate learning
environment for more dependent learners and is difficult to assume obligations
demanded by the courses.

There are numerous arguments to why online learning has become a common
method of remote learning in higher education today with regard to the Covid-19
outbreak. The online environment provides unparalleled incentives for individuals who
might otherwise have insufficient educational opportunities, as well as a new model for
teachers to create dynamic courses of the highest quality. With this rapid change away
from the school in many areas of the world, some are concerned if post-pandemic
acceptance of virtual learning will proceed to operate, and how such transition will affect
the education sector globally.

Digital interactive education enables learners leverage over their academic

experience and provides non - traditional participants with versatility in learning
activities; however, this puts considerable obligation on them. Students must be well
prepared, self-motivated, and have a great amount of organizational skills to effectively
participate in order to compete with the speed of the program. More so, for such
considerations, younger learners (i.e. elementary or secondary school age) as well as
other students who've been dependent learners may have trouble adopting certain
commitments demanded by digital system, making online learning not suitable.
BACKGROUND

Though states are at varying levels of COVID-19 outbreak, there are reportedly
over 1.2 billion children globally in 186 areas affected by education cuts due to the
pandemic. Assortments of virtual learning methodologies have been proposed, but
before participating in any course or program, prospective students must acknowledge
certain recognizable parameters. Generally, not all variables contribute to any online
learning instance, however, they adhere to most of them. As a student, one should
evaluate online degrees with more personal interest, to closely ensure that the
curriculum suits well the lifestyle, career needs and tasks.

Asynchronous interaction through remote conference programs enables the job,

family, and learning schedules of skilled balancing to engage in class discussions.
Learners can react on remarks from others through a digital collaborative learning
framework before responding or passing on to the next object. This arrangement
provides participants time to express answers with more scope and forethought than in
a standard face-to-face conversation environment in which the individual must evaluate
one's statement on the spot and respond appropriately or otherwise forfeit the
opportunity to contribute to the discussion.

Although online training courses provide considerable opportunities as well as

enable unparalleled access to quality education, there are restrictions inherent in the
use of such platform which can trigger potential challenges to any virtual program's
effectiveness. For individuals who have their sights centered on standard university
experience, digital training may lose their appeal. Most learners feel disconnected
without on-campus encounters with instructors, organizations and activities, and even
other students.
According to a study conducted by Ali, A., & Smith, D. (2015) of Indiana
University of Pennsylvania, social alienation appears as a key cause for undergraduates
to withdraw from their studies. Among several students, such decreased degree of
social contact destabilizes the university experience, which results in remote learning
creating a stigma underpinning the situation. It can be challenging to handle remote
learning, with participants entering their fall 2020 semesters with a mixture of anxiety
and uncertain enthusiasm. Nevertheless, this stigma of not being on board to traditional
learning in digital training is gradually decreasing.

CONCLUSION

Learners ought to consider both the positives and negatives that lead
substantially to making an educated conclusion on the course of their career trajectory.
Students must evaluate how their goals will be achieved: digitally, face-to-face, or a
blend of both. Conversely, the uncertainty of keeping a standard academic calendar in
certain cases prevents prospective students from pursuing their education. It is
therefore evident that education is extremely dependent on the willingness of the person
to learn. Therefore, the bottom line is that every student's interests with their education
ultimately decide how much he / she can maintain and how advantageous the overall
performance has been for his / her career path.
