Important Senior Year Post-Secondary Information

Transcript Request Procedures

1. Students submit/mail their own college applications. Applications are
mailed out directly by the student. They are not handed in with
transcript requests. The ONLY exception is Penn State HONORS
College.

2. All students must fill out a Transcript Request Form (located in the
Senior House Center).

3. These forms must be filled out for each college application. All college
applications are considered incomplete by a college until an official
transcript is received from the Guidance Office.

4. The forms must be submitted to Mrs. Dearden (guidance secretary) in

the Senior House Center. Make sure you indicate your TITAN FORUM
MENTOR.

5. Our office will need 15 working days to process your

request. We cannot guarantee that requests submitted less than 15 days
before the application deadline will be processed on time.

6. All requests can either be accompanied by an envelope addressed to the

college PLUS three unaffixed stamps or $2.00 per request. This fee
covers all envelopes and postage fees for that college throughout the
year. Please do NOT write your address in the return address area. We
will stamp our school address there so the college knows it is directly
from us.

Mid-year Reports
If you want to know whether your college requires a mid-year report that
includes your first semester grades, look on the list posted in the waiting area
of the Senior House Center. We will automatically send mid-year reports to all
of those schools for you. You don't need to do anything!
Requesting Teacher Letters of Recommendation
Some schools request teacher letters, others do not. Read your schools’
applications carefully.

Follow these steps to request a letter:

1- Ask your teacher if he/she will write a letter for you.
2- Give them a folder with all the teacher recommendation forms, stamped
and addressed envelopes, and the “teacher brag sheet.” *Note- Some
teachers have their own brag sheet.
3- Make sure that you write down the deadlines.
4-Teachers will mail your recommendations directly to the school.
5- Follow-up with each teacher.
6-Make sure you write the teacher a thank you note.

Scholarship Information
There is a scholarship bulletin for CB South students that is updated and
published at the beginning of each month. Applications for the scholarships in
the bulletin will be available in the Senior House Center. Applications that
require official transcripts from CB South will be handled in the same manner
as transcript requests to colleges. Scholarship Bulletins will also be posted on
E-Notes II (Guidance Updates for the Class of 2006) and in print form in the
Senior House Center.

Financial Aid Night

Financial Aid night will take place at CB East on November 17 at 7pm. This is a
very informative meeting about the financial aid process.

E-Notes
Please check E-Notes weekly since important information is posted there
frequently.
