SECTION 1: PANEL DISCUSSION

1. How much do you worry about epidemics, terrorism, and crime?


Discuss your outlook and attitude about the problems with your
partners.

2. Arts (music, art, dance and theater) are just a waste of time. Do
you agree or disagree? Discuss the benefits of them.

3. What are some reasons why people donate money to or volunteer


for charities? Is it only for good purposes? 
4. Money has nothing to do with happiness. Do you agree or disagree
with this idea? 

5. Do our clothes tell others about us? 


6. Discuss on cosmetic procedures or cosmetic treatments and
whether people should use them or not.

7. Discuss ways to avoid being a victim of urban crime.

8. Do you think animals should be used for medical research and for
food? Discuss your opinion.
9. Pets bring a lot of benefits to people. Do you agree or disagree
with this?

10. Shopping behavior doesn’t cause any problems to us. Do you


agree or disagree? 
11. Discuss advertising techniques to persuade people to buy a
product.

12. Parents should let their children have or do anything they want.

13. Discuss some consequences of the increase in the global
population of older people.

14. Do mobile devices save us time or waste more of our time? 


SECTION 2: INDIVIDUAL RESPONSE
1. Think of someone you know. It can be someone you like or dislike.
Describe the personality and behavior of the person.

2. Describe how you’ve been enjoying the arts.

3. Talk about the music (genres of music/songs/ singers) you like


and including voice, performance, beat, melody, and lyrics, etc.

4. Talk about your short-term and long-term financial goals and


plans.

5. How do you manage money? Talk about your good or bad money
management.

6. What’s your personal style? Compare and contrast your fashion


style and tastes with those of someone you know.

7. Compare and contrast fashion today with fashion five, ten, or


twenty years ago in your country.

8. What are some of your pet peeves? In your opinion, how should
people behave in public places? 

9. What can people do to get involved with their community? Which


kinds of activities would you like to do for your community? Why?

10. What animal do you think make a good pet or a bad pet? Why? 

11. Do you think it’s humane to keep animals in zoo?


12. Talk about two ads to which you have different reactions. 

13. Are you a careful shopper, or do you buy things on impulse?

14. Describe family trends (may differentiate past and present.)

15. Compare your parents’ generation with your generation. Give


examples.

16. Describe a mystery you know and talk about the theories about
it. Which theory do you think best explains the mystery and why do
you believe it?

17. What causes people to get stressed? Suggest ways to reduce


stress. 

18. Describe how you got interested in a hobby. Explain the reasons.
