1. Explain how media literacy and digital literacy are related.

Media is the medium of certain information being spread to each and everyone. Digital is what
instruments is being used to spread the media information through the different digital platforms. Media
and Digital literacy become inseparable in terms of spreading information and facts about what is
happening in the world. Media used Digital tools enable to get easier to transmit with the people who
need to know the information that they needed in a certain aspect. Therefore, Media and Digital literacy
is important to know when it comes to delivering facts and figures about information and becomes easier
to understand by the people.

2. How is critical thinking important to both media and digital literacy?

Media and digital literacy need a critical mind to analyze what is the content for particular
information. As of today’s era there is a lot of hoax information in different social media platforms, we
need a critical thinking in reading, hearing, and watching information. We must cite the multiple
references if it’s legit, to refer to a professional individual (e.g teacher, media literate person, digital
literate person etc.). Also we must first analyze and understand the terms and conditions in a certain
digital platform enable to use it well. Critical thinking is very important to the media and digital as of this
generation being media literate and digital literate become an advantage as we live in the advancement
and improvement of the technologies in the whole world.

3. Explain how an advertisement on social media from an unknown company promising you a
chance to win a brand new, top-of-the-line smartphone is likely to be scam.

Advertisements are everywhere especially in every social media platform, advertisement is a way
of company to get a subscribers or costumer for them to expand their brand. It a scam when a company is
not well-known from your country; if suddenly pop-ups in a certain website and there is a lot new tabs
been open by your browser; and if there is a fill-up form and they asking of your personal data.
Advertisement scam is being upgraded as you click the advertisement link pass to you by a friend or
unknown person your account could be hacked by someone and gets your personal data. Therefore, we
need to be aware in every social media platforms and to out digital belongings and we should be a media
and digital literate to avoid every threats or risks in the internet.
