Data Migration using Data Management from FCCS to
Planning
This tutorial shows you how to migrate data from FCCS Application to Planning Application.
This is hands on lab where you learn how to process step by step data migration from FCCS
application (as source app) to Oracle Planning app (as target application).

Step#1 Register the Source System
In the 1st step, you register the source system. The possible source systems can be a) Oracle
HCM Cloud, Oracle Fusion Cloud, Oracle NetSuite, and File. Click on Add, specify Source
System Name and Source System type.

Step#2 Register the Target Application(FCCS)
In the 2nd step, you register the target system. We will register 02 target applications a) Oracle
Planning which is running in the same instance therefore you select App->Local and specify
Planning server details b) Oracle FCCS application, as this application running under different
domain/instance, you need to select Add->Cloud option. Specify below details. Once you see
the Application Name, consider it as app connection is successful.

Step#2 Register the Target Application (FCCS)
Followed by registering the FCCS application, you need to specify Dimension details as given
below. As you see below, source application name FCCSAppFCCPRT1 of consolidation type. Keep
the Target Dimension Class and Data Table Column Name a given below.

Step#2 Register the Target Application (EPBCS)
As stated in previous slide, you will register 02 target applications a) Oracle Planning which is
running in the same instance therefore you select App->Local and specify Planning server
details.

As part of target application registration process, you need to specify Dimension Details and
Application Options.

Step#3 Create Import Format
Create new Import Format and select source and target application as given below.

The next step is to define source column to target column mapping. In this example, I’m
mapping only 04 columns (Account, Amount Currency with fixed value USD and Entity)

Step#4 Create Location
Add New Location as given below.

Step#5 Period and Step#6 and Category Mapping
In this example, I’m using default period “Global Mapping”. Category (Scenario Dimension
mapping as done below).

Step#7 Data Load Mapping (Account Dimension)
FCCS and Planning application account hierarchies given below. In the below diagram, it is
shown how FCCS and Planning application account dimension gets mapped.

Step#7 Data Load Mapping (Entity Dimension)
FCCS and Planning application Entity hierarchies given below. In the below diagram, it is shown
how FCCS and Planning application Entity dimension as Source Entity and Target Entity.

Step#8 Create Data Load Rule
The final step in configuration is to define Data Load Rule. Select Location, Period, and Category.

Specify Source Filters as given below, in order to make sure that the data is to be loaded based
on the given intersection.

Execute the Data Load Rule, and finally we see the status as green check mark, it entails the
load done successfully.

Step#8 Validate Number (SmartView)
To see the final output I created two Smart Views a) one from source FCCS and b) Target
Planning Application.
