Fairy Tales are Good for Children.

Some people think that fairy tales are bad for children and should stop being told. Fairy

tales are good for children, and we shouldn’t stop telling children them because they help them

by telling them what things are good and bad to do. Fairy tales are important for children because

they teach morals and encourage creativity.

First of all, fairy tales are good for young children because they help teach kids good

morals and what is right and wrong (“The Benefits”), but it does more than just teach them; it

also helps them be more creative and understand ideas better. Fairy tales teach kids, help parents

and any caregiver with their children because all they have to do is tell them a story that they

were probably told when they were the same age and don’t have to go through the trouble of

having to try and explain things in a way that a young child would understand. Since fairy tales

have made up and fanciful things in them, they get children's attention and make them want to

listen and pay attention. It makes it even easier to tell children the message one is trying to get

across. Some examples of fairy tales that have good hidden messages in them are little red riding

hood, peter pan, Alice in wonderland, and there are many others. These fairy tales teach children

about things that can hurt them, and they learn what they shouldn’t do by what theses made up

characters choices were and what bad outcomes happened from them. If children learn these

things at a young age, it could help them and their parents.

Fairy tales can also help children be more creative or help embrace their creativity and

could help with learning new words and skills. According to Albert Einstein, “if you want your

children to be intelligent, read them fairy tales. If you want them to be more intelligent, read

them more fairy tales.” (Leslie and Katie). Fairy tales have creative things in them that seem

magical and fun and children like things like that and they might be inspired by them. When

thinking about our childhoods you typically think of things like playing make-believe and using

your imagination to create fun things in your head when you were bored and had nothing to do

What if the bed time stories and fairy tales you were told were the cause of that, or at least help

with that, children could take some of the details from the story and make their own twist to it

and make it unique and better. Fairy tales could even help children learn words by them

practicing reading the fairytale from a book or them hearing it for the first time when someone

reads it to them. Children could also get a better understanding of the things around them from

fairy tales because in the story's things are better explained to them and easier for them to

process. Because fairy tales can get children's attention with all the fun and magical things in

them it gets them to learn and understand things better and help embrace their creative sides.

Some people contend that old fairy tales have bad and outdated messages. However, I disagree

with that argument because maybe during the time those stories were made, people's choices and

morals were different but knowing what was right and wrong back then is still important so we

can see how we have change since then. But even today a lot of old fairy tales are still told but

just change in small ways either because they had a bad message in them or because it up to time

and it could get children's attention better. Old fairy tales are not bad, and we can still learn from

them, and we don’t have to quit telling children them. As previously mentioned, Albert Einstein

once said fairy tales make children more intelligent. Who would argue with Einstein?

Some critics also claim that some of the old fairy tales are meaning less and may be telling

children the wrong message. Although true to a certain extent, I don’t agree with this argument

and think that it helps children a lot and helps parents a lot. According to Learning with

Literature, fairy tales teach children that good conquers evil and ordinary characters can

overcome obstacles. These lessons are beneficial for children to learn. Furthermore fairy tales

help children develop a lot and many people can still recall a lot of the stories and fairy tales they

were told as children and can probably tell you that it impacted them in some way, like having

good memories of being told the fairy tales at night as bed time stories, and helping the parents

teach children things they should and should not do, and normally the children's caretaker choose

what stories they tell them so even if there is one stories they don’t like there are thousands more

they can pick from, and there are even different types of the same stories with different hidden

messages in them. If someone thinks that one fairytale isn't good there are thousands of different

types of the same fairytale and thousands of different other fairy tales.

In conclusion, Fairy tales are good for kids because they give children good long-life lessons and

help inspire their creativity for their childhood. They help teaching children because they can

grab the child's attention and helps them learn without them knowing they're learning and help

them be creative and express themselves. We should keep telling kids fairy tales and inspiring

them to one day even make their own so then they can keep inspiring a new generation and keep

the cycle going.
