I. Opening – Welcome to our In-service TRAINING FOR TEACHERS 2021


a. How are you today? Did you eat your breakfast? How are you feeling?
b. To start with, let us check your attendance. From Kindergarten to Non/Ad
teachers :
Kinder teachers: Heeeep heeep?
Grade 1 teachers : Grame kana ba?
Grade 2 teachers : Okay ka aba diyan?
Grade 3 teachers : Hooray, horay/
Grade 4 teachers : Anyeong haseyo
Grade 5 teachers: Are you ready to fight?

II. Energizer : At this juncture, we will have an Energizer so we will be get energized.

III. Recall: Before I go to my main topic this morning; Let us recall what we have learned
from Yesterday’s in-service training.

IV. Presentation of pictures: At this moment, Kindly look at the photos I have prepared
on the following slides. Click the slide?
Questions: What are your interpretations of the following photos, and how will
you apply them as an individual or as a teacher?

A. We will do it by group/ each group will be given one photo only. Collaborate
with your team/ share your thoughts/ ideas/ perspectives. Write them down
on Manila paper that has been provided. Once you are all done, post your
output on the board and choose your reporter. I will just give 10 minutes to
brainstorm with your team.

V. Allow me to share this inspiring quote to you that says :

Being a teacher has never been easy and will never be easy.  However, despite the reasons we
still love our jobs and students so much because the joy that results from a student’s success is
irreplaceable!
Despite all the hard work and problems associated with teaching, we still love our jobs and
nothing in this world is more joyous to us than seeing our kids grow up to be the future leaders
and have them make a mark in this world.

v. Presentation of Topic: The main topic that we are going to talk today is about GOAL SETTING
FOR TEACHERS TOWADRS SELF- IMPROVEMENT

I hope this topic would help us to be better as an individual because we have to realize that you
teachers are not only teachers, you are also a parent, individual, sister, daughter/ son. You are
also other responsibilities. A lot of people out there have forgotten the multiple roles not the
single role of a teacher.

Let me start with a Trivia

Photo of Confucius: He is a Chinese Philosopher. One of history's most influential thinkers, a


teacher. He believes that Teaching is a vocation. I can still remember that my teacher in college
says; It is a strong feeling or calling for a service. Confucius is also known for his Golden Rule.

When it is obvious that the goals cannot be reached, don’t adjust the goals, adjust the action
steps.

What does that mean?


To me, this says when the going gets tough, don’t give up. The toughness is a clue that you
need to adjust your approach. This is important, as many people will bail out when it gets
tough. Like the kid pushing on the door that says “Pull”, all you need is a better strategy.
The quote implies that you should stop, look around and try to figure out why things are going
so slowly or so poorly. You should then evaluate the situation and try to come up with a better
plan. Then, get back to working towards your goal. Take action and continue to work towards
your goaL

Let’s have now a little activity called SELF AWARENESS

-A simple assessment for all of us

- This would help you to know how motivated person you are. All I need you to do guys is to
get a piece of paper and a pen. This is just a ten item test for you to go through.

This is a self-awareness of are you motivated person, or what’s your level of motivation to
achieve your goals.

INSTRUCTIONS: Here are the instructions, Read and write each statement. Write the number
that corresponds to your answer. It’s a numerical responses : These are

1-Always, 2 –sometimes, 3- Seldom, 4- Never

; Add all your numerical responses and divide it by 10

1.0 1.5 – Goal –driven: Being goal-oriented means you are focused on reaching or completing
specific tasks to achieve a planned outcome. driven by purpose
2.0 Goal-driven but easily distracted- ; you have skills but
- Goal driven but a little doubtful of ones capabilities- douting self, questioning self, kaya
ko ba to? You never yet started, pero sinasabi mo nan a hindi ko kaya.
- Not goal-driven or complacent- okay lang na ganito / okay na ako
I am not saying na its’ not good kaya lang as we teachers should improve themselves especially
we are in the field of carrer that there are a lot of changes that are happening everyday, just
like what happening right now, we need to be goal driven because there are a lot of demands
from us to cope with, challenges brought by pandemic. If a person is not goal driven, we are
complaining a lot, instead of thinking how we should improve ourself in the process. A lot of
people are complaining because they don’t want to get oput ouf their comfort zone.

You can only take a test ones. You can also try this to your kids, asawa ninyo. If ever mababa
ang kanilang score then do something about it para maging motivated person sila.

Discussion : Questons ;

Define goals first; Three elements of goals : aim/ action/ time limit. If one of these is missing,
then it cannot be consider a goal. It is just a wish/ hope or a dream. Wish or dream and goal are
different.

Goal setting: steps and process that you should have take to achieve the goals. involves the
development of an action plan designed to motivate and guide a person.

Goal setting : Is not only for yourself as a teacher, it is also for your students

Why is Goal Setting important?

Baka sabihin Niyo na, eh yong iba okay lang naman na walang goals pa chill2 lang sila
nandiyan lang sa eskinita. No they also have goals, their goal is to survive.Eh siguro Kung may
mga nakita ka na taong grasa I think these people have given up in live na or their sanity has
already gave in.

1. Goal setting encourages a search for new strategies to aid success.

I think most people experienced this, natatakot sila mag set ng goals kasi akala nila they don’t
have the skills. You do the intervention: study, like small business: kunyari cookies, pastries,
ang sabihin ay, ayaw ko hindi ko alam yun e. Meron naming mga online classes in baking. Take a
new skill, learn. Immerge yourself, what stopping you? Not the people around you right? It is
you itself.
2. Goal Setting involves planning for the future which boosters our ability to create goals
and consider the actions required to achieve them.

- nagiging creative tayo. Kung wala kang goal, eh pagkatapos mag turo, matutulog nalang tayo,
okay lang naman yun, pahinga din. Sometimes pwde din tayo makikinig or watch inspirational
videos, read books, articles that could help you to be the best version of your self

3. Goal setting and achievement can promote the development of an internal locus of control.


( Self- discipline) – PAG MAY GOAL SETTING KA NAKOKONTROL MO ANG MGA URGES MO. Ano
ang mga gusto mong gawin, self desipline.

4. Success in achieving goals help build confidence and belief in our own abilities to grow.

- Whenever you reach success hindi kana matatakot nex time. Just like business man,
they are risk takers, so they love success. It gives you self esteem and trust on your
abilities.More confident.

Or reults? Write down 3 most important goals. There categorise them. Example sa Self mo,
family and career. Ano ba ang priority mo sa tatlo? E rank mo sila. Ang e rank 1 mo young gola
na should affect uou, your family and carrer.Dapat ang e rank 1 mo yung marami kayo ang mag
bebenifit, and make other people that would be happy of your succes not only you. Most
important to least important.
