1 Introduction
1.1 Objective
The objective of this document is to define general technical requirements for the
components subject to cab environment.
1.2 Scope
This specification covers the family of components that have the same environmental
conditions due to their position in the tractor assembly, i.e. cab interior.
Each component fitted in this area has to conform to this document and its drawing or
relevant specification should mention it.
Some components, due to their specific function, have to comply with complementary
requirements indicated on part drawing or part specification. In this case, these requirements
supplant the requirements defined in this document.
ISO standards
ISO 3795 – 1999: Road Vehicles, and Tractors and Machinery for Agriculture and
Forestry – Determination of Burning Behaviour of Interior Materials
ISO 10289 – 1999: Methods for corrosion testing of metallic and other inorganic
coatings on metallic substrates - Rating of test specimens and manufactured articles
subjected to corrosion tests
ISO 15003 – 2006: Agricultural Engineering – Electrical and Electronic Equipment –
Testing Resistance to Environmental Conditions
2.1 Color
Painted parts
Paint of the painted parts shall conform to AGCO paint specification asked for part
considered (i.e. color, reference class and technical requirements). Information is to be found
on part drawing and/or on part order.
Note: all AGCO paint specifications are linked to the general paint specification GD10000101
– Global paint.
CFSEN04018 BEAUVAIS Page 4 of 6
Delivered painted parts made with non-metallic materials shall conform to the requirements
described in AGCO document CMS M1001 – Plastic Parts Delivery Performance
Specification.
Definition of the color is to be written on the drawing of the part considered. Color
requirement is defined preferably with a matching system (i.e. Pantone, RAL).
In case color is not defined with a matching system, L*a*b* scale has to be used for the
determination of the colour.
Test procedure
Cycle test:
• (+40 ± 1)°C, (95 ± 5)% relative humidity, 16h
• (-20 ± 1)°C, humidity not controlled, 3h
• (+80 ± 1)°C, dry heat, 6h
Between each phase of the cycle: temperature variation of 2°C per minute (no thermal
shock).
At the end of the test leave parts 24 hours at (+23 ± 1)°C, (50 ± 5)% relative humidity before
taking any measurement.
Requirement
After test part should operate properly. There also shall be no significant physical
changes, i.e.:
- material properties: maximal tensile strength variation: ± 30%
- maximal dimensional variations: ± 2.5%
- no distortion of the shape
- no change of the visual appearance of the part (cracks for example)
Depending on the position of the component in the cab, other maximal and minimal
temperatures of test can be defined. In this case the part drawing or relevant technical
specification would precise it.

4 Corrosion resistance
Corrosion resistance is defined as following: part shall be resistant to corrosion in order to
remain fully operational during its useful life.
Parts with a specified finish (painting, surface finish as zinc plating for example) mentioned
on the drawing part shall comply with specification of that finish.
Note: ISO 10289 standard is to be used as a preferred way for the evaluation of part
deterioration due to corrosion.
5 Chemical resistance
Chemical brush test shall be conducted in accordance with ISO 15003 Section 5.10, using
chemicals indicated below:
There shall be no alteration of any functions of the component (i.e. electrical, mechanical).
There must be no material damage (i.e. holes, corrosion…), discolouration (colour change or
loss of transparency), blistering, swelling or surface change (sticky surface for example).
Depending on the position of the components in the cab, some chemical products could be
added or removed from this list. In this case part drawing or relevant technical specification
would precise it.
6 Light Resistance
Light resistance shall conform to the requirements of AGCO document FTS 915573 part 3.
7 Friction Resistance
Hue must be resistant to handling:
- No marks on fingers due to the handling of the part are accepted.
- When a white paper sheet is rubbed on the part, marks on this paper sheet are not
accepted.

8 Flammability
Components assembled in the cab have to be tested according to ISO 3795 standard.
Because of the influence of sample thickness on the results, it is important to test whole
component to the greatest degree possible.
If serial part is not available for the test or is too large to be compatible with test chamber, a
sample shall be made of component’s production material or a smaller section may be
removed for evaluation. In both cases minimal thickness of sample tested must be the same
as minimal part’s thickness.
Burning rate has to be inferior to 100 mm/min. Test report shall mention minimal and
maximal thicknesses of the sample used for the test.
9 Mechanical Vibrations
Each component of the installation is in a vibratory environment and consequently has to
pass to a vibration test without degradation of any function.
