URANUS® 926

General recommendations for welding

The product
URANUS® 926 (UR 926) is a 25% Ni, 20% Cr, 6% Mo
superaustenitic stainless steel grade with 0.2 % nitrogen
additions, particularly designed for high structural stability
and high corrosion resistance
properties.

Standards
EURONORM X1 Ni Cr Mo Cu N 25.20.7, VD TÜV Blatt 502
AFNOR UNS N08926

Welding metallurgy
Due to the highly alloyed (Cr, Mo) and fully austenitic Moderate heat inputs and interpass temperature
microstructure, UR 926 is sensitive to phase transforma- increase cooling rate and avoid intermetallic phase

austenitic stainless steels.

This grade must be welded with filler metals : welds

without filler or with matching filler metal have low
corrosion resistance in the as-welded condition. Nickel
alloys filler metals with high molybdenum and chromium
contents are used to weld UR 926
