WHAT I CAN DO (Pg. 16)

Product is an item that is built or

produced or assembled to satisfy the
needs of a certain segment(s) of the
people. The product can be intangible or
tangible. It can be a service, a consumer
good or a software.

Price of the product is basically the

amount that a customer pays for to enjoy
it. A low price usually means an inferior
good. Premium pricing is generally
perceived as superior product quality.

Place/Placement is a very important

part of the product mix definition. As a
marketer, we have to position and
distribute the product in a place that is
accessible to its potential buyers.
Example, a luxury holiday resort is better
situated in the countryside away from the
hustle of the crowded city.
Promotion strategies boost brand
recognition and therefore, sales. TV ads,
radio commercials, print media, and
internet advertisements all add up into
Promotion. Brand awareness or seasonal
seals and offers are a few of the
promotional strategies.

People are a defining factor as they are

the one delivering service to the
customers. Example, a restaurant is
known as much for its food as for the
service provided by its staff. Often,
feedback & surveys are taken to improve
this part of the marketing mix.

Packaging pertains to how a business

and the products are perceived in the
marketplace. This also includes product
packaging, staff conduct, store interiors..
Positioning defines where your product
(item or service) stands in relation to others
offering similar products and services in the
marketplace as well as the mind of the
consumer.

THE POWER OF COLOR! (Pg. 17)

I am going to show you some colors. For each one, write down the FIRST company or product
that comes in to your head when you see the color.

What’s the FIRST BRAND you think of when you see these colors?
RED – CHOWKING
BLUE – MENTOS
BLACK – ADDIDAS
YELLOW – LAYS
ORANGE – ROYAL
GREEN – STARBUCKS
