1. You are asked to connect a network with 10 computer units.

What network configuration

(based on architecture) will you use? Justify your answer by stating the advantages of your
choice.
- Although you can use client-server, but for this situation with 10 computer units is
given, it is better to use peer-peer because it is easier to administer.
- Advantages are listed in your module
2. Name at least three applications of connectionless transmission of data, where speed is
more important than reliability.

Some examples when to use connectionless over connection-oriented.

➢ When sending data from a fast acquisition where it is acceptable to lose some data
points.
➢ You can also use connectionless to broadcast to any machine(s) listening to the
server.
➢ Weather data (which changes every now and then)
➢ Video streaming
➢ A stock quotation service (not used for actual trading)
➢ Gaming data.
3. You have three computers at home that you want to network together. Two computers are
on the main floor of the house, but the third is upstairs in a bedroom. List as many
possible ways to interconnect the three computers so that they could operate on one local
area network.

6. Your network supports teleconferencing in a wider range PERFORMANCE
7. After a failure, the network can only resume
its activities after a couple of days RELIABILITY
8. Limited number of users to log PERFORMANCE
9. In a certain application, three computers run the same RELIABILITY

are unusable unless corrected

1. This is the physical path over which data and information travel – TRANSMISSION
