(McNamara, p. 84.)
I. Learning outcomes: At the end of this activity, the students should be able to
identify national policies or laws that protect the well-being of the person in
technological advancement and ethical dilemmas through research.
II. Instruction:
1. Work in pairs. For sections with odd class size, 3 persons in a group is allowed.
2. Research for national policies or laws that address the ethical and moral
concerns in the technological era.
3. Briefly summarize your research output by completing the table below:
National Policies or laws that address Ethical and moral concerns in the

technological era.
I. Learning outcomes: At the end of this activity, the students should be able to:
1. understand what nanotechnology is by reading an article and viewing a video
presentation.
2. illustrate or design a product or output that is made up of nanomaterials.
3. discuss the impact of nanotechnology in various aspects (health, environment,
economy, ethics, et.) of the society through a philosophical discussion; and
4. conduct a research on the recent innovations or advancements in nanotechnology in
different countries.
3. Work in pairs (or group of 3 person) and discuss the following questions. Submit
yours answers in .pdf format afterwards.
Questions:
1. Define nanotechnology.
2. Why nanotechnology likened to creating a statue out of a pile of dust?
3. What science governs nanostructures? Why is it different?
4. Why is nanotechnology a difficult science?
5. What does nature show about building organisms from the bottom up?
6. How can chemistry help in nanotechnology?
2. Creative Work
Illustrate or design a product or output that is made up of nanomaterials you want to create.
Explain the raw materials that made up your product, the steps involved for developing your
product, and the specific use of the final product. You can create your 10-min. video
presentation featuring the product you have made. What is the significance of your output for
the society?
3. Philosophical discussion
Discuss the impact of nanotechnology in various aspects (health, environment, economy, ethics,
etc.) of the society.
Share your own ideas and principles in relation to the topic. Summarize what had been
discussed by completing the table below:
Health
Environment
Ethics
Economy
Electronics
Technology
4. Portfolio
Conduct a research on the recent innovations or advancements in nanotechnology in
different countries. Cut out pictures and provide descriptions. Show and discuss your
output in class. Summarize your output in tabular for:
Countries Recent innovations or advancements in
nanotechnology
*All document submissions must be in .pdf format. All video presentations, and .pdf output
must be uploaded in one folder (with file name: GE 7_Sec “XX”_ Final Activities) in your
google drive. (Note: Only the link of the folder will be submitted in our google classroom
submission)
