In this activity, my students are going to use Google Sides to create a PowerPoint to present their favorite
animals: adaptations, habitats, niches, life cycle and how humans influence it.

Pedagogy
Activity. Prior to the project the students will learn about how
each animal is unique in many ways including its habitat,
ecosystem, food web, niches, life cycle, adaptations and
how we humans affect them. The teacher will read
multiple books on different habitats and present a
slideshow on an animal of his/her choosing as an example
of how the animal lives. The students will then be asked
to choose their favorite animal, aside from house pets or
farm animals, to research these qualities of that animal.
The students will receive a worksheet to help guide
Technology
Web 2.0 Technology The students will be using google slides. This is a free web
browser, and is available on computers, tablets, and smart
phones. The only thing needed is the student must have a free
Gmail account either given by the school or created by the
teacher or parent. Using Google slides allows the teacher to
have access to each student’s project in one area to help with
check-ins or presentation day.
