Final Student Teaching Reflection
My first student teaching experience has been one of the most amazing, influential and
teachers, that made me realize how much I really enjoy teaching and how passionate I am about
it. As I had received support from my cooperating teachers, I had felt that this was my time to
put all I’ve learned and worked hard for into action. I was placed in 5th grade, and was fortunate
enough to have two classes in which I was able to teach language arts and science to. I was also
placed in 1st grade for my second placement in which I was able to teach all subject areas such as
Being able to interact with so many different students, and individually getting to know
them was an experience I could never forget. My cooperating teachers, were mentors that really
cared about my progression as a teacher, and they allowed me to express my teaching, strategies
and professionalism within their classrooms. As for my professional philosophy, I felt as though
I was in my own classroom most of the time. It was truly an amazing experience, and I learned
so much from it. I built a bond with all the students I was fortunate enough to teach during this
experience, and got to know the students all individually. I realized that as time passed, and as I
built relationships with the students, my classroom management skills improved as they had
respect for me, and I was able to continuously keep them engaged during lessons.
Throughout this semester, I was always planning for the week, and next week
continuously. I was lucky enough to see how my cooperating teacher planned her curriculum for
the year. The process of implementing lessons, and preparing for them went all as planned and I
am proud of all the lessons I taught. For future teaching, I have come to realize that although we
plan in advance, things can always change. In preparing for student teaching, I was nervous but
excited to be an active role in the classroom, in which I was always teaching! After a few days, I
was comfortable and confident enough to just jump in and take in the experience and opportunity
