Commercial Analyst


The key objective for the Commercial Analyst is to support the Global Fiduciary Solutions (OCIO) and
Charitable Asset Management (CAM) sales in a broad range of business development activities which
lead to achieving key financial milestones. The role involves supporting a combination of administrative
and business development support functions in partnership with key stakeholders, including
maintaining the CRM and sales pipeline, compiling management reporting, competitor and client
intelligence, client sales support, RFP pipeline support and coordinating sales and marketing campaign
client lists.

Hiring Requirements

Daily requirements include but are not limited to the following:
Marketing/Prospecting:
• Research prospect targets / gather publicly available information (5500’s, MMD, 10k, Dun & Bradstreet,
Company news, bio’s, etc.)
• Input prospects in Salesforce
• Assist with coordinating Marketo campaigns
• Assist with scheduling internal calls with RM’s to discuss their clients
• Attend / participate in educational meetings promoting OCIO internally
• Cold calling (prospects, conference attendees, etc.)
Pre-sales Meeting:
• Participate in pre-call prep
• Help gather information from team (strategy, portfolio management, research, etc.) regarding their
views/commentary from publicly available information
• Leverage Salesforce to gather intel on State Street and State Street Global Advisor relationships
• Assist with developing intro materials (slides, edits, graphics, formatting, etc.)
• Submit material to compliance for approval and make necessary changes
• Assist with logistics (confirm time/date, location, attendees, etc.)
Initial Meeting:
• Help prepare briefing documents
• Update meeting notes in salesforce and account plans
• Schedule and participate in debrief meeting
Proposal:
• Assist with go/no go decision criteria
• Own proposal execution end to end working across the business
• Coordinate internal prep meetings
• Help coordinate RFP responses and work closely with RFP content manager
• Review presentation material / RFP
• Assist with finalizing material / RFP (compliance/final production)
• Help with competitive positioning analysis info
• Semi-Finals / Finals Meeting:
• Drive the production of material
• Assist with coordinating logistics (date, time, onsite prep, travel, etc.)
• Participate in pitch perfect practice sessions (via phone).
• Assist with documenting prep notes and key messages
Meeting Follow ups:
• Coordinate win/loss opportunity reviews
• Coordinate internal debriefings
• Update Salesforce with meeting notes and next step to do tasks

General:
• Monitor, build and maintain external and internal websites contents by ensuring appropriate and timely
marketing materials
• Be the primary person to send out broad-based communications to clients and prospects
• Own the effort on annual clients’ conference and bi-annual client training conference, collaborating with
various teams to create agendas, find venues and catering, ensure logistics for attendees
• Send broad-based invitations and maintain RSVP list
• Ensure all marketing and communication materials are timely updated and compliance-approved by
working with various internal teams
• Support the Managing Director in CAM’s marketing effort by assessing industry events to sponsor and
maintaining inventory of promotional items
• Liaise with vendors and negotiate selection of promotional materials handed out at trade shows,
interacting with the crowd and generating enthusiasm for SSGA; and welcome guests at corporate
events
• Build internal and external awareness of the CAM team
• Represent SSGA and CAM with professionalism at conferences and client events.
• Conduct effectiveness analysis for marketing effort
• Contribute to highlighting our research and value proposition
• Serve as main point of contact externally and internally.
• Conduct research on competitors, clients and prospects
• Coordinate compliance approval preparation and timely dissemination of company ads, logos, reports
and slides
• Ensure timely, high quality communications to our clients and prospects; Perform editorial oversight
and ensure all information distinguishes SSGA through quality and accuracy;
• Organize and keep client and prospect material timely and in compliance; re-assess communication
plans, white papers, resources, special packages, processes, and look-and-feel
• Provide multi-tasked support to Managing Director’s leadership team; including correspondence, legal
documentation, database management, risk/ethics & compliance review, expense/invoice management,
meeting & event planning/logistics coordination, office inventory, floor personnel logistics,
communications and problem resolution.
• Assist in onboarding and cross training of new hires and interns; foster a collaborative working
environment and coordinate team building and volunteer
• Provide backup coverage for Managing Director as needed
• Work on other miscellaneous and special projects as directed.
Required Skills/Experience:
Organized individual with a positive disposition, great interpersonal skills and a stellar work ethic to
support the team and liaise with top-notch clients, prospects and industry partners.
Individual should be proactive, inquisitive and able to anticipate the needs of manager and team
members, helping them to stay focused on their projects by attempting to resolve operational and
administrative issues before they arise. Individual will be a vital member and a major contributor to our
business development and operations. Candidate should move quickly in a fast-paced changing
environment and ensure they remain up to date on our processes, services, products and systems. In
addition to being organized and analytical, individual should possess strong judgment and
communication skills needed to contribute to and manage a variety of simultaneous projects. Candidate
should be able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization as well as outside parties.
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in communications, marketing or business management
• 3 to 5 years of experience related to business development and marketing
• A can-do attitude and creative mind
• Great written and verbal communication skills
• Resourceful, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
• Professional and poised
