Transport Management System

Objectives
The objective of this application is to automate the details of transportation (pick and
drop) services provided by an organization to its employees and to manage the related
information in a convenient manner.The purpose is to design a system that allows one to
manage the relevant information. This system allows the user view all information of
services provided by the organization. The User can make a request to system for vehicle.
This system allows the user to cancel vehicle booking. This system allows the
administrator to maintain and update all information of vehicles. The vehicles are
assigned by system to client on request. The information of vehicle request details of day
user and regular user are maintained by system and the administrator can view all or
selected informations. The purpose to design the system is allowing easy access of
vehicle for transportation.

EXISTING SYSTEM:

The present systems organize the entire information in file and ledgers. It is difficult to
search and retrieve relevant data, when required. It is difficult to view any particular
information quickly. Lot of time is needed to search the data.
Often the data is mismanaged and this leads to loss of data. It is difficult to track the
vehicle details.

PROPOSED SYSTEM:
The proposed system is a web based application which maintains a centralized repository
of all necessary information. This allows the users to access the information easily. The
system allows tracking and managing all information through well-defined interfaces.

Administrator involved the followings:


Can Add/update/delete route details in online.
Can update client and vehicle information

User involved the followings


Can Registered
Can book a vehicle
Can pay online

MODULE DESCRIPTION:

Number of Modules
After careful analysis the system has been identified to have the following modules.
1. Administrator Module
 Vehicle module
 Route module
 Report module

2. User/Client module

1- Administrator Module
This module provides administrator related functionality. Administrator can add, delete, update
and view details of vehicles, routes. The administrator maintains the details of employees who
avail the transportation service.

 Vehicle Module:
The administrator consist the vehicle module. This module maintains the details of
vehicles and availability for transportation. For each vehicle details such as route number, vehicle
number, vehicle type, capacity, availability will be stored. Administrator can manage the vehicle
information.

 Route Module:
The administrator consist the route module. This module maintains the details of all routes
available for transportation. For each route details such as route number, stopping points, pickup
time for each stop points will be stored. Administrator can manage the route information

 Report Module:
This module allows administrator to generate various reports based on
different criteria such as client request details, route details, vehicle details. The client vehicle
request details allows to generate reports based on client request.

2- Client Module
User can view all information about the route like Vehicle details, time details,. Client can make
request for vehicle and make update before payment. Client gets details about the vehicle after
assigned by the system.

Conclusion
The Transport Management System is an application that the admin launch the route, add time, route
and make updating for route and time. Then the client come and View the route details and make
request to update route. Then the client gets updated information about vehicle. The administrator gets
the user’s feedback.
