Minutes of Meeting

MINUTES OF THE MEETING - INTERVIEW CONDUCTED


WITH HEDGE EMPLOYEES

Jojis P Joseph | HR Internship | 11/11/2020


Hedge provided us (HR interns) a great opportunity to conduct interviews with 6
designations with prepared list of questions. It provided an overall idea of Hedge as a
company is successful in treating its employees. It helps me to understand various
challenges and how each designation played a vital role to overcome. It also helped me to
understand that the skilled workforce is the backbone of any business.

Minutes of the meeting:


 Research Analyst – Mr. Naufal Latheef:
The meeting was conducted on Nov 2-2020 at 3 p.m through zoom platform. The
moderators were Soumaya and Bhagya from B13. During the interview, sir
mentioned about various skills that are important for research analyst including
communication skills, decision skills etc. and talked about the characteristics
needed to be a successful research analyst. He also points out the quality which
makes an efficient research analyst. He also shared his way of analyzing his
customers and competitors. Then he shared his experience of receiving negative
feedback from manager and how he responded to it. He mentions about Ashok
layland shares story in which his decision was right and at first his manager found
it wrong and gave him a negative feedback. After that he talked about his role as a
research analyst contribute towards company goal. He also shared his career path
towards the current designation. He pointed out the barriers for financial industry,
that is challenges from competitors like Zerodha. The meeting concluded by
sharing his message to the fresher’s, where he mentions about the importance of
certification courses and never fail to learn.

 Corporate Communication Vice President – Ms. Anusree:


The meeting was scheduled and conducted on Nov 3-2020 at 4 p.m via zoom
platform. The moderators were me (Jojis) & Liyana from batch B12. In the
interview, ma’am mentioned about the biggest perk of being a Corporate
Communication Vice President, which was her association with top management.
Corporate Communication is the face and voice of the company so her decisions
are taken seriously by the company. Then she pointed out the KRA’s for this
designation - link between top management and clients, Organising HR activities,
PR activities, keeping everyone motivated etc. Then she shares her motivation to
stay in the company - 11 years of experience, started in research and then shifted
when she realized that it was not a kind of her cup of tea. The freedom, work and
personal life balance, passion offered by work satisfaction all these motivates her
to hold on Hedge. Then she shares about learning from mistakes- don't take for
granted, don't think your employees will take the work seriously if you won't.
Always stay behind them and keep in check the work progress. There should be

proper communication and messages should be passed on clearly.She also points
out her way of handling negative feedback - depends on the person. If it's coming
from someone you look upto then take it in a positive way. Don't let the negative
comments affect you. Take the good things from it.After that talked about the
challenges of her designation- to keep the employees motivated amidst the
pandemic. Organizing fun and interactive activities. Then ma’am shared her best
corporate experience till now - 10th anniversary celebration of Hedge Equities,
Annual program happened at a 7 star hotel. After that she talked about the
essential; qualities that a successful employee should have - empathy, good
listener. The meeting was concluded by sharing her message to freshers- always
have a learning attitude. Don't expect spoon feeding. Make your own space. Keep
an open mind and take in as much knowledge as possible.

 Chief Investment Officer – Mr. Hareesh:


The meeting was scheduled and conducted on 05- Nov 2020 at 3:30 p.m through
zoom platform. The moderator’s were – Anna Francis & Ashly from B13. Sir talked
about the qualifications required to become a chief investment officer and he
mentions the role played by CIO in an organization. He also pointed out the
unique tools used for monitoring the investment activities and maintaining the
investor relations. After that he talked about the important functions of a CIO –
developing investment policies. He also mentioned about the strategies that form
the base for developing investment policies. He then points out the key to an
effective budgeting and the most challenging part of budgeting. He also shared his
experience of greatest strength as a chief investment officer. He also talked about
maintaining work life balance. The meeting concluded by sharing his message to
the fresher employees.

 Research Head – Mr. Krishnan Thambi


The meeting was scheduled and conducted on 5-Nov -2020 at 4 p.m through zoom
platform. The moderator’s were - Sneha Maria & Lakshmi from B12 . He talked
about
how to organize, plan, and prioritize works and shared his experience in which he
analysed information and evaluated results to choose the best solution to a
problem.
SWOT analysis is an important element that helps in market research. He also
suggests alternative ways of doing research. Time is one of the constraints that
arises when it comes to the process of research and he gave some tips on how to
manage time effectively. After that talked about the qualifications required to
become a research head. He then shares how you got up into financial services
industry and maintaining work-life balance. Also shared about the most
challenging thing being in this designation. The meeting concluded by sharing his
message to share to the fresher employees.

 HR Manager – Mr. Bobby
The meeting was conducted on Nov 6 2020 at 4:30 p.m through zoom platform.
The moderator’s were- Sneha Anna & Mohd Ansid B12. Mr. Bobby, is the HR head
of Hedge equities. In the interview he talks about measuring the KPI of employees
in the company and the the future goals as an HR employee. He also mentions
about various programmes that emphasise on to improve employees’ satisfaction.
He then points out the factor that makes employees stay loyal with the company.
He then shared his experience of conflict with a co-worker and how he dealt with
it. He also points out the key competencies look in for an employee, as an HR
person. Also mentioned about the reacting way towards negative feedback. He also
mentions the pros and cons of video interview, as a good method for recruitment.
The meeting concluded with the message to the new employees.

 Sales Head – Mr. Sangeeth


The meetings was conducted on Nov 13,2020 at 3 p.m. The moderators were –
Chaithanya & Carol B13. Sir, talked about his ideas that helped him to develop and
implement a strong sales strategy for the company. He also shares like and dislike
about the sales process. He also talked about his prefernces and the way he rate
the sales forecasting efficiency of his team. He also talked about the qualities that
make him good at sales and the challenges he faced and how he overcame out of
it. He also talked about the need for analytical skills while working in financial
industry. He also talked about the importance of time and how important is the
time management process. He also talked about the need of reading books and he
suggested a book titled” Nudge” by a nobel peace prize winner –Richard thaler.
The meeting concluded by sharing his message to the fresh employees.
