WELCOME TO

JERUSALEM
Jerusalem is an ancient city, holy to the three Abrahamic faiths, Islam, Christianity and Judaism.
There are lots of wonderful sites to visit in the city.

There are 4 parts to the city. The Muslim Quarter, The Christian Quarter, The Jewish Quarter and The
Armenian quarter:

Jerusalem is home to the Al Aqsa mosque. The third holiest site in Islam. It is said that prophet
Muhammad went to the heavens to meet God from the Al Aqsa Mosque. Below is a picture of the
mosque:
The Church of the Holy Sepulchre is one of the holiest sites in Christianity. Christians believe it is
where Jesus Christ was crucified, buried and resurrected. Below is a picture of the church:

The Wailing Wall is the holiest place for Jewish people. The wall was part of the second Jewish
Temple. Jewish people from all over the world come to pray at the wall. Below is a picture of the
Wailing wall:

There are lots of museums to see in Jerusalem such as the Israel Museum which contain the dead
sea scrolls. Also there is the world famous Yad Vashem centre in Jerusalem which tells the story of
the 6 million Jews who lost their lives in the Holocaust.
If museums and historical sites are not your thing then there’s lots of bazaars and shopping markets
in Jerusalem which sell lots of wonderful local food. Below is a picture of the Machane Yehuda
Market. One of the most famous markets in Jerusalem:
