Assignment 1 (15%)

Do the following assignments accordingly.

1. Challenges of team teaching in online platform

There are many problems in our country which are very broad in scope, where
geographic areas are very varied, networks, facilities, and also courses that
tend to be predominantly psychomotor are rather limited in continuity, we still
have to integrate various learning systems that allow better achievement of
educational goals. Indeed, this pandemic condition forces us to take advantage
of the most possible online technology, but there are still many shortcomings
that accompany it, so we need ideas, thoughts from fellow experts to find the
best solution for this condition.
The common problems in online classes based on my experienced are the
following: weak internet connection, mental health issues of the students and
slow learner's outputs to the lessons
2. Opportunities/benefits of virtual team teaching
Virtual Team Teaching is a method where two geographically separated
teachers collaborate to engage their students in continuous shared learning
experiences and lessons during a school year."
 It uses digital and web-based tools to enhance the collaborative nature of
effective learning.
 The teachers develop lesson plans and specific learning activities for their
students.
The students, with teacher guidance, then adapt web-based tools to facilitate
their goals and the learning activities.
Benefits of virtual team teaching
A. Increased flexibility of time:
Learning and teaching can occur at times that are more convenient and
productive for both students and teachers. Students can work at their own pace
within a given framework and the online learning and teaching engagement
process can be broken into smaller more frequent portions of time, with an
opportunity for reflection in between.
B. Increased flexibility of location
Learning and teaching can take place in any location (home, office, while
commuting, coffee shop) and can include students and teachers from diverse
geographical locations
C. Context
Online education gives learning a new relevance to contemporary society and
professional and industry practice
D. Information sharing
Online education provides opportunities to access and share information more
easily and readily. Teachers and students are able to join online communities
of practice based on their area of interest rather than their geographic location.
E.  Online resources
Online education provides access to a greater depth and breadth of resources
and information
F. Diverse and enriching experience
Online education can enhance the student learning experience by providing
opportunities for cross-disciplinary, cross-cultural and/or cross-campus
collaborations. This learning experience can occur at a local, national or
international level, and can be enriched by increased interaction and
engagement, peer feedback, and group work skills
G. Access, equity & disability
Online delivery provides a mechanism for equal opportunity amongst students
and teachers living with a disability, or who have accessibility difficulties that
restrict their ability to attend a face-to-face class
H. Digital information literacy
Online learning develops digital literacy skills that are increasingly required in
contemporary society and workplace environments
I. Administration
Online education can streamline some administrative aspects of teaching
3. Prepare students guideline for effective teaching learning based on the
context of your school.
At Aferewanat High School, we strive to promote academic excellence by
providing our students with a total quality learning experience while
enhancing knowledge and character. To help achieve academic excellence, we
created the Guidelines for Success.
School Uniform
Every student is required to be correctly dressed in the uniform appropriate to
their year level.
Absences
if a student is absent from school, the reason for the absence must be reported
to the school home room teacher. The parents should then also supply, on the
next day of attendance, a written note for the absence which is given to the
student's homeroom teacher for filing.
Plagiarism: Information or ideas taken from another source must be properly
acknowledged. Failure to do so is a serious offense known as PLAGIARISM
(literary theft).  Students found guilty of plagiarism will receive a “0″ on the
piece of work in question, and may receive a suspension from school.

Respect for Others:

a) Students will show respect and honor when interacting with the school
community. It is each student’s right to attend a school free from physical,
verbal or emotional abuse. Such abuse, whether physical, verbal (oral or
written), sexual or psychological, that is discriminating on the basis of race,
culture, religion, gender, language, ability, sexual orientation or any other
attributes is unacceptable .

b) It is the responsibility of a student upon request to identify him/herself to

any staff member in a cooperative manner and follow their direction.

Punctuality (late to class/school):  Students are expected to be on time for

each subject class. Being on time shows consideration and respect for other
people.  Students who are late for class disturb the learning environment.
Avoidable lateness will be subject to disciplinary action, consequences are as
follows:

Textbooks & Library Books: The school lends books to all students.

Each student is responsible for them and must return them in good condition.

Announcements:  All students are expected to stand still and listen to the
National Anthem and the morning announcements where ever they are in the
building.

Preparation: Students are expected to be prepared for each class, with all
necessary material. Students should have a signed work completed, handed in
on due dates and be prepared for tests and examinations.

Academic Conduct: Students must write all tests and examinations in an

honest manner and must not engage in plagiarism. Students are expected
to come to school well rested and free from all substances (drugs and alcohol).

Accidents:  All accidents resulting in a personal injury or property damage

must be reported to the homeroom teacher and school administrator
Assignment 2 (20%)
1. Explain with examples about Placement, Diagnostic, formative and
summative Evaluation
“Evaluation is the process of determining the extent to which educational
objectives are achieved by the students.”

Evaluation is the systematic process of collecting, analyzing and interpreting

information to determine the extent to which pupils are achieving instructional
objectives.

Types of Evaluation

1. Placement Evaluation

Placement Assessment: Placement evaluation is conducted before the

organization of teaching-learning activities to measure the entry behavior or
previous knowledge of learners. Another purpose is to know whether learner
is able to acquire the new learning experience which is related to the previous
knowledge.

Examples of Placement Evaluation

 Entry Tests

 Aptitude Test

 Pre-Test
2. Formative Evaluation

Formative Evaluation is used to monitor learning progress during instruction.

“Formative assessment is typically conducted during the development or

improvement of a programme or product (or person, and so on)”

Its purpose is to provide continuous feedback to both pupil and teacher

concerning learning successes and failures.

Feedback to the teacher provides information for modifying instruction and

for prescribing group and individual remedial work.

Examples of Formative Evaluation

 Homework,
 Weekly Test
 Monthly Test
 Quarterly Test
3. Diagnostic Evaluation

Diagnostic evaluation is a highly specialized procedure.

It is concerned with the persistent or recurring learning difficulties that are left
unresolved by the standard corrective prescriptions of formative evaluation.

Diagnostic assessment is specially conducted for removing the learning

difficulties of learner.
4. Summative Evaluation
Generally taken by students at the end of a unit or semester to demonstrate
the "sum" of what they have or have not learned. Summative assessment
methods are the most traditional way of evaluating student work.
Summative evaluation typically comes at the end of a course (or unit) of
instruction.
It is used primarily for assigning course grades or for certifying pupil
mastery of the intended learning outcomes.
EXAMPLE
 Final examination
 Term papers
 Projects
2.  Role of Teachers in Evaluation programs
The primary role of a teacher is to deliver classroom instruction that helps
students learn. To accomplish this, teachers must prepare effective lessons,
grade student work and offer feedback, manage classroom materials,
productively navigate the curriculum, and collaborate with other staffs. But
being a teacher involves much more than executing lesson plans. Teaching
is a highly sophisticated profession that regularly extends beyond
academics. In addition to ensuring that students experience academic
success, teachers must also function as surrogate parents, mentors and
counselors, and even almost-politicians.
Assignment 3 (50%)
1.  Conduct a situational analysis of implementing technology assisted
teaching learning at your schools?
 Introduction
 SOWT (Strength, opportunity, weakness, and Treat)
 Conclusions and recommendation

1. Introduction
Technology-based teaching and learning can make many changes in school
that requires for proper planning and policy making. Researchers and
policymakers must both have the same insight about the future plan.
They provide a rationale, a set of goals, and a vision of how education systems
run if ICT is integrated into teaching and learning process, and they are
beneficial to students, teachers, parents and the general population of a given
country.
Our school has been in the forefront of innovative teaching for many years.
Information and communication technology (ICT) is one of the Departments.
Which adopted latest computer technologies such as multimedia and web
technologies to assist and enhance classroom teaching? We have been
designing and adapting our teaching methods to suit our specialized fields in
Information Technology. We will use a typical example, how a course
module called a teaching unit is presented, to demonstrate how it is presented
and students assessed. Lecturers employ PowerPoint and flash players in a
live class room, screen casts, as part of a lecture presentation. Blended
learning/teaching is another term coined in educational circles recently to
indicate the inclusion of various techniques and technologies for teaching and
learning. Technology assisted teaching is acceptable if it enhances teaching
and can benefit the learners and their learning experience.

“Technology assisted instruction-when the computer is used as an aid to

teaching method of instruction is called computer assisted instruction.”

Instructional activities that uses a computer as the primary vehicle for

teaching content or process rather than one to one interaction with a student.
There are still good reasons to use CAL rather than internet based
technologies. CAL is run either straight from a CD or floppy disk drive or
over a local network so the constrain of the internet-slow download times for
multimedia. It is defined as one kind of learning environment in which though
the use of computer technology, a learner receives, reacts to, and interacts
with instructional material prepared by an instruction specialist.

A teaching process that uses a computer in the presentation of instructional

materials, often in a way that requires the students to interact with it called
computer assisted learning.
STRENGTHS

The strengths of technology assisted teaching learning at my schools is helped

for teachers master the necessary skills to be a successful teacher by allowing

them to develop the foundations of presenting and integrating technology.

The lessons learned allow my students to feel motivated in their own learning

keeping them interested in finding out more as the latest technologies develop.

The following are the strengths of technology assisted teaching learning at my

schools

1. Motivates students to achieve aims.

2. .Provide meaningful experiences to students.
3. Assist goal attainment by providing appropriate material.
4. Assist in formatting realistic goals.

WEAKENESS

Weaknesses: In what areas do I need to improve?

Learning about your own weakness is an important aspect of teaching while

discovering ways to improve and become a better teacher.

1. Lack of Support

While technology can be a great addition to the classroom, it also can be a

source of frustration for both the teacher and the student. Unless the teacher is
well trained in technology and can support the hardware in the classroom, a
technology expert will be needed to troubleshoot problems.

2. Inadequate Teaching Methodology

Technology does not have a place in classrooms where teachers have not been
adequately trained in its implementation. While technology is fun and can add
interest for students, it is not fully integrated until students are learning from
technology and not just with technology

3. Time Lost

Because connection problems, downloading issues, policing software and

other difficulties can cause road blocks when implementing a lesson in the
technology based classroom, teachers sometimes shy away from using it
simply because of lack of time. With all of the demands on students, the
amount of time spent in the classroom is more and more valuable.

4. Upkeep and Maintenance Expenses

Once technology is purchased for a school, the cost of upkeep and

maintenance can be too great for the building to maintain.

5. Incompatibility Issues

Many schools today have curricula and programs based on state or national
assessments. The majority of these tests and measures are paper-and-pencil
based in order to make them accessible for all students and schools.

Opportunities

Opportunities: What are the opportunities of technology assisted teaching

learning at my school? I have enjoyed learning how to develop fun, creative

multimedia projects that could lead to a positive change for my students with
the use of software and other creative technological devices. Technology will

be used in a variety of new ways in the future and the more students and

teachers learn to use it, the easier it will be to get things done. Technology

including multimedia is developed to aide in common tasks as well as used as

a tool for entertainment and educational purposes. The values of multimedia

presentations are most valuable to classrooms with diverse populations and

they can be of great value to students with special needs.

Treat
Threats: What are the obstacles or barriers technology assisted teaching

learning at my schools? An obstacle/challenge (threat) that I face while

assessing assisted teaching learning at my schools. I would like to be able to

become more confident in the preparation and planning of my theater courses

through tools like Moodle and other Online learning recourses. These

technical challenges are only threats until I learn more about the procedure for

introducing online learning to a new group of students.

I plan to make use of better lesson plans by implementing these latest

technology elements into my own planning.

CONCLUSION:
• As for as audio-visual aid is concern like chalk board, charts, models, slide
projector, the computer will be more effective way of learning process and its
essential for teaching and learning process • With the widespread use of computers
in work environments, there has been a change in the last few years in the way
students are commonly trained. By using a computer to teach students new skills,
students have been able to increase the success of their training programs while
reducing their costs.

Technology integration is going to be part of every classroom for all student ages in
the near future. As technology advances, so will the need to learn new skills and in
order to keep up with the new elements.

Recommendations:

• Students’ technology assisted teaching needs to be improved.

• Reliable support structures should be established and maintained.

• Students’ exposure to educational computer packages needs to be improved and its

effective utilization ensured.

• Increased access to various educational computer packages which support

mastering of subject content and the development of higher cognitive skills should
be ensured.
