Functions of Art

  

1.      Are there differences in its function today compared to its function before?

- I think this art has no difference in its function today compared to its function before.
This art shows us the beauty of our natural world. In my own viewpoint, this art also
raises awareness of the dangers that we might face in the future if we will not take
good care of our environment. It also encourages citizen participation to protect our
nature.

2. Does this art always have a function? Why?

-          Yes, art always has a purpose or function because Art is created by an artist
because he or she has a reason or purpose in making it. An artist will not make an
effort to make an art without any function at all. The function of an Art depends on
how it is portrayed by the one who made it and how it is perceived by the one who
saw it.

3. If the art ceased to have a function, will it remain an art? Why?


-          An art without a function still remains as an art. Just like an art that has
aesthetic as its function. I do believe that every viewer has their own interpretation
about a particular artwork’s purpose. Maybe some people would consider it useless
and not an art anymore because the function of its artwork ceased. But there are still
some people that will see the aesthetic function of that artwork.
