Assessment: Students will complete Common Assessment to demonstrate mastery of skills.

Formal Assessment: Students will complete Part 1 & 2 of Common Assessment
Informal Assessment: Students will complete HMH resource assignment for a classwork grade

Students with IEPs will be accommodated based on their needs and modifications will be given such as
modified worksheets to assist learners.
Instructional Strategies & Learning Tasks to Support Diverse Learners’ Needs
Introduction or Student Spark (__5__Number of minutes)
Day 1:
I will greet & welcome all students to class. I will remind them all cameras are expected to be on & ready to begin.
Students will be expected to complete the Activating Strategy prior to mini lesson, they will be required to watch
BrainPOP video on critical reasoning
I will check attendance and begin mini lesson
I will also remind students they will complete Common Assessment unit 6 the following two days
Day 2:
Greet all students coming to class & settle in
Zoom students will begin to log in too & I will take attendance
I will remind all students we will be taking Part 1 of 2 of the Common Assessment unit 6 today
Day 3:
Welcome students and take attendance
Remind students to log in & be ready to begin Part 2 of the Common Assessment
Day 2:
All students should be logged in & ready to begin test
I will advise students to click on the “Assessment” tab on eClass
I will provide the code to begin test
Students will have the rest of the class period to complete the test
The test will take approximate 25 minutes & if some finish earlier they will submit
All students will be advised to check grades & complete/turn in any missing assignments for this unit
Day 3:
Students will be ready to begin test
I will advise them to read through the questions carefully and not rush
I will provide the code for them to begin
Once they have completed the second part of the test, students can read silently or complete any missing work
they have not submitted
Closure (__5__Number of minutes)
Day 1:
After playing Kahoot, I will dismiss students
Homework is posted on eClass to review text for Common Assessment Unit 6 test tomorrow
Day 2:
Remind students to complete any missing work
To read for 30 minutes
Day 3:
Congratulate students on completing yet another unit!!
Scores will be available the following week after I grade the responses
Let students know I appreciate their hard work & to enjoy their weekend
Facilitation & Safety
- I will ensure students understand instruction and ask questions if needed
- I will encourage students to stop by before or after class to answer questions
- I will explain classroom expectations and norms in the beginning of class to minimize disruption
- I will provide tutoring opportunities on academic misunderstandings if needed
I plan on reviewing information before moving on to new information to assure students have
understood material
