My Learning Episode Overview

Episode 4 provides an opportunity for me to examine my own knowledge

about how to use technology in teaching through the TPACK framework.

My Map

To realize my Intended Learning Outcomes, I will work my way through these

steps.

Decide on a specific content area and the level of learners’ technology.

1

Find out the learning resources relevant to topic that are

2 available.

Find out the learning resources relevant to topic that are available.
3

Organize them in a box.

My Tools

Subject Area / Topic: TLE – Business Card

Grade / Year Level: 8-CHS

Big Ideas about the topic:

Definition of business cards

Parts of business cards
Importance and use of business card

25
Objectives:

Identify the different parts of business card.

Create a business card.
Appreciate the importance of knowing how to create a business
card.

Name of the School Visited: Balogo National High School

Location of the School: Balogo Oas Albay

Some learning resources in the resource center seem to be

useful for my chosen topic which Business Cards. I chose slide
presentation and videos with the use of projector, speaker and laptop,
this can help me achieve my lesson objectives and maximize learning
inside the classroom.

My Analysis

1. What skills did you have which helped you prepare the materials? What
skills did you lack that made it difficult for you? (Technological
Knowledge)

Creativity and flexibility helped me in preparing the materials. I was able to

adopt to the change in technology and I was able to apply it appropriately. I
think the skill that I lack is being focus because of so many ideas that i think I
sometimes loss my focus.

2. Discuss some strategies on how you will use the materials you included
here in this episode. (Pedagogical Knowledge)

I’m going to use the video presentation as a motivational activity to boost the
interest of my students and the rest will be use on the actual lesson and
hands on activities.

26
3. How well do you know the topic you have chosen? (Content
Knowledge). Discuss the big ideas of this topic that you would want to
focus on.

A. Identify the different parts of business card.

B. Create a business card.
C. Appreciate the importance of knowing how to create a business
card.

My Reflections/Insights

1. Reflect how your technological knowledge (TK), pedagogical knowledge

(PK) and content knowledge (CK) worked together in fulfilling the tasks
in this Episode.

To reflect the technological knowledge, pedagogical knowledge and

content knowledge I must include the learning styles in demonstrating the
learning outcomes that students should adapt when teaching and discussing
the lesson.

2. What are some of the things you can do to enhance and enrich your
technological, pedagogical content knowledge (TPACK) to be able to
facilitate an active, interesting, learning and fun-filled learning
environment in the future?

I must assess first what are the learning styles of the students.I must see
to it that the materials will fit the learning styles of the students and must be
applicable to the subject matter for it to be effective. The chosen materials
must be appropriate and can contribute to the achievement of learning
objectives. In today’s generation, it is important for a teacher to meet the
changing needs and interest of students, thus several factors must consider
such as practicality, availability, cost effectiveness and appropriateness that is
based on student’s characteristics or learning styles and lesson objectives.
