Levels of Attainment – Violin

The listed repertoire is to be considered only as a guide. The goal is for each student to reach a
new level with each semester of study. Final selection and grading of material assigned to the
student is at the discretion of the studio instructor. These attainment levels are based on the
ASTA String Syllabus levels.

Entry Level:
• Two three-octave scales: up to four notes on the bow
• Two arpeggios: separate bows or three notes on the bow
• Two contrasting selections: solo and/or with piano accompaniment
