Course Description

A. Rationale: This particular training was


developed to indoctrinate and equip Naval
ROTC Cadet with the basic knowledge and
skills in seamanship, naval ordinance, and
damage control
B. Participants: Enrolled in the National Service
Training Program (NSTP) preferable in
NROTC Components.
C. Duration and Schedule of the Course: The
training has duration of 90 hours periods or 15
Training Weeks
Grading System

Cadets shall be given a final grade for every semester, such


grade to be computed based on the following weights:
1. Attendance - - - 30 percent
2. Performance Task and quizzes - - - 30 percent
3. Task Assessment - - - 40 percent

Attendance (30%)
a. Prompt and regular attendance of
students is required (this can be gain
through the submitted quizzes). Student
must meet at least 80% of total Training
days (12 Training Days). Student who met
three (3) absences must be contacted and
inform accordingly.

b. Absence from instructions maybe excuses


for sickness, injury or other exceptional
circumstances. Excuse letters/ medical
certificate must be on the next training
day.
MS 2 Course Overview

Performance Task and Quizzes (30%)


(Video Clip Performance) is a 3 minutes video
clip on a given topic and to be submitted
online.
This will be graded by
a. 30% creativity- how they convey their idea,
message or through in a original and
imaginative way through their lens
narrative and performance.
b. 20% Style – how they showcase their
personal originality and technique to
influence how the video is presented and
interpreted.
c. 50% Subject Matter – how was the subject
addressed in the narrative, performance of
the video clip.
MS 2 Course Overview

Task Assessment
(Major Examination) (40%)

There will be three (3) written major


examinations including Prelim, Midterm
and Final Exam, to evaluate the students
progress in the course. The Test questions
will be sent via Google Classroom on the
scheduled date of examination. The scope
of the examination will include but not
limited, to those topics presented. Exam
will commence and end on the scheduled
time. Late examiners will not be given any
consideration unless with valid reason.
MS 2 Course Overview

• Students must obtain the passing grade of 75% of each


scheduled examination.
• Students who obtain grades lower than 75% of the scheduled
exam, the student will be given a REMEDIAL EXAM, with the
grade of 75% as the highest attainable grade.
• Students who failed to take the examination during the
scheduled date can be given a special exam provided he/she
has valid reason. If it is health reason, he/she should provide the
faculty with the medical certificate signed by the attending
Physician. Other reasons shall be assessed first by the faculty to
determine its validity.
