ACTIVITY 1
Identify 3 innovations in each of the three mechanisms. The innovations shouldhave pictures or images that will
describe it visually.

1. GOVERNMENT
 NDRRMC’s emergency mobile warnings – Agencies like Philippine Institute of Volcanic and
Seismology (PHILVOLCS), the Natural Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council
(NDRRMC), as well as the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services
Administration (PAGASA) has invested in cell broadcast technology which allows users within a
specified location to receive timely and accurate warnings from authorized government sources in
times of calamities or threats. During emergencies or calamities, mobile users should receive an
emergency alert - a very loud siren-like sound will go off with a corresponding message about the
emergency flashed onscreen.

 QR code scan for covid-19 health check/ E-health pass- this innovation quickly addresses the need
for a faster process cycle time in assessing and monitoring for quick detection and institute control
on the spread of COVID-19 in public places, workplace and establishments.

electronic vote counting machines. The deployment of 92,500 of these machines was the largest in
the world.

2. INTRAPRENEURSHIP
 Messenger- Messenger, an instant messaging service owned by Facebook. This gives the ease of
which you can send and receive messages with your friends, loved ones, and other contacts.

 Google- Google changed that by using a PageRank algorithm which prioritized a website's
popularity over its relevance. Companies now rely on this method to make money and use Google

 Amazon-One Convenient Click - Amazon programmer Peri Hartman wanted to find a way to 'make
the ordering system completely frictionless', and so he built the software to enable 1-click
purchases. It worked. Not only did this innovation provide Amazon with a huge competitor
advantage, it also provided a new revenue stream as it licensed the technology to other
companies.

3. INTREPRENEURSHIP/TECHNOPRENEURSHIP
 Apple- Apples innovations have been in design, packaging, and the user experience. They
introduces a technology way later than others but they introduce it in such an optimized way that
other companies also start using it again.

 Twitter- Once a piece of information is published on Twitter it is then available for millions of people
