Qaraşahın sarayı. Saray əyanları öz hökmdarlarını gözləyirlər. O, növbəti yürüşdən yenicə qa-
yıdıb. Hər bir hərəkətində dərin məna ifadə edilən Komdenin nəfis və cazibədar rəqsi Qaraşahı
heyran edib. Hökmdar eşqə düşüb və hər vəchlə öz sevgisini büruzə verməyə çalışır. Lakin gənc
rəqqasə üçün bu anlaşılmaz bir duyğudur.
Rəqs başa çatanadək saray rəssamı Komdenin surətini yaradır. Musiqi bitdikdə, rəsm əsəri
də hazır olur. Portret o qədər gözəl alınır ki, hökmdar da məmnunluğunu gözlədə bilmir və
rəssama bəxşiş verilməsini əmr edir, lakin belə gözəl sənət nümunəsi təkrarlanmasın deyə
rəssamın gözlərini çıxarmaq istəyir.
Komde çox məyusdur. Belə qəddarlığa qarşı hiylə işlədir rəsmin xoşuna gəlmədiyini bəhanə
gətirib yenidən çəkilməsini xahiş edir. Qaraşah əsəbi halda gedir. Komde rəssamın sənətkarlığı
qarşısında baş əyir, rəqqasənin istedadı isə rəssamı heyran edib.Komde saraydan qaçmaqda
rəssama kömək edir.

Gənclər şəhər meydanına toplaşıb. Hamının sevimlisi, müğənni və musiqiçi Modan mərkəzdə
dayanıbdır. Onun səsləndirdiyi musiqi hamını rəqsə cəlb edir. Tambur sədaları ətrafa yayılır.
Rəssam da buradadır. O, yaratdığı ecazkar sənət nümunəsi Komdenin portretindən zövq alır.
Modan rəsm əsərinə tamaşa edir. Tanımadığı gözəlin surəti ona hər şeyi unutdurub. Modan

Eşq əzabı Modanı taqətdən salıb, hər yerdə gözünə Komdenin surəti görünür. Məcnun kimi
o da sevgilisindən ayrı yaşaya bilmir. Hətta dostların gəlişi belə Modanı xilas etmir. Modan
dostlarının əhatəsində öz məhəbbəti uğrunda vəfat edir. Xalq sevimli müğənnisi üçün göz yaşı
tökür.

Altınci şəkil «Komdenin arzuları»


Bağçada Modanın sındırılmış tamburunu qucaqlayaraq xəyala dalan Komde üzgün və
kədərlidir. Qaraşahın gəlişi onu şirin xəyallardan ayırır. Qaraşah Komdesiz yaşaya bilmir, onu
dəlicəsinə sevir, yalvarır. Məhəbbətinin cavabsız qalacağını bilərək ümidsiz vəziyyətə düşür.
Sevənləri ayrı salan hökmdar qəlbləri ayıra bilmir.
Qaraşah dəlilik həddindəir, Modanın kölgəsi onu addımbaşı izləyir.

Yeddinci şəkil «Əbədi məhəbbət»


Saray qarşısındakı meydan. Modanın cəsədi buraya gətirilib. Xalq kədər içindədir, Komde
iztirab çəkir, Qaraşah sarsılıb. Sevgilisinin ayrılığına dözməyən Komde əbədiyyətə qovuşur.Yalnız
ölüm sevənləri vüsala çatdırır. Komde və Modanın məhəbbət tarixçəsi əbədi olaraq yaşayır.

Картина первая «Портрет Комде»
Дворец Карашаха. Придворные ожидают своего повелителя, который только что
возвратился из очередного похода. Изысканный, грациозный танец Комде, каждое
движение которого наполнено глубоким смыслом, очаровывает Карашаха. Он влюблен
и всячески старается проявить свою любовь. Но юной танцовщице еще неведомо это
чувство.
Во время танца придворный художник пишет портрет Комде. Окончен танец, и
закончен портрет. Портрет настолько хорош, что Карашах велит щедро одарить
художника, но чтобы художник не смог создать ничего более прекрасного, он
приказывает ослепить мастера.
Комде в отчаянии. Она не может допустить такой жестокости и решается на
хитрость она просит переписать портрет, так как он ей не нравится. Рассерженный
Карашах уходит. Комде преклоняется перед талантом художника, а он в свою очередь
восхищен ее искусством танцовщицы.
Комде помогает художнику бежать из дворца.

Картина вторая «Модан»


На городскую площадь собралась молодежь. В центре Модан, певец и музыкант,
всеобщий любимец. Звучит его тамбур, вовлекая всех в танец. Здесь же находится
художник. Он любуется портретом Комде, лучшим своим творением. Модан видит
портрет. Он ослеплен красотой неизвестной ему девушки.
Модан прощается с друзьями и идет на поиски Комде, навстречу своей судьбе

ДЕЙСТВИЕ ВТОРОЕ
Картина третья «Поиски Комде»
Ярмарочная площадь, заполненная пестрой толпой. Идут состязания музыкантов,
певцов, танцоров.
После долгих странствий и поисков сюда пришел Модан. Он поет своей любви.
Неожиданно на площадь врываются стражники Карашаха. Сметая все на своем пути,
они уводят во дворец шутов, музыкантов, певцов. Среди них и Модан.

Картина четвертая «Встреча»


Праздник во дворце Карашаха. Придворные развлекают повелителя. Приводят шутов,
музыкантов с площади. Они показывают свое искусство.

Ну вот зазвучала песня Модана. Комде поражена красивым юношей, который так
прекрасно поет о своей любви. Влекомая какой-то силой, она начинает танцевать
под звуки тамбура. Два сердца поют в унисон, они говорят о своей любви, никого не
существует сейчас для них, есть только великая любовь и песнь волшебного тамбура.
Карашах взбешен. Он приказывает обезглавить наглеца, посмевшего посягнуть на
то, что принадлежит ему. Только мольбы Комде спасают Модана от гибели. Карашах
изгоняет Модана из страны.
Разбит тамбур, разлучены влюбленные, но сердца их остаются вместе.

Картина шестая «Мечты Комде»


В саду, обняв разбитый тамбур Модана, грустит и зрезет о своем любимом Комде.
Приход Карашаха разрушает видения Комде. Карашах молит Комде о любви. Он
в отчаянии, поняв, что Комде никогда не ответит ему взаимностью разлучив
влюбленных, он не сумел разлучить их сердца.
Карашах на грани безумия, его всюду преследует тень Модана.

Картина седьмая «Вечная любовь»


Площадь перед дворцом. Сюда принесли тело Модана. В оцепенении народ, в отчаянии
Комде, потрясен Карашах. Не в силах пережить смерть любимого, умирает Комде.
Только смерть смогла соединить влюбленных. В вечность уносится любовь Комде и
Модана.

ACT 1
Scene 1 “The picture of Komde”
Karashakh’s palace. Courtiers are waiting for their lord, who has just come back from his
regular campaign. Karashakh is fascinated by the elegant and graceful dance of Komde. Each
move of her dance is full of deep meaning. Karashakh is fall in love with Komde and tries to
show his love in every way. But this feeling is unknown for the young dancer.
During the dance a court artist is painting the picture of Komde. When the dance is finished,
her portrait is finished also. The portrait is so nice Karashakh decided to give the artist gener-
ous bestow, but at the same time he doesn’t want the artist to paint anything more beautiful
than this portrait, and Karashakh gives order to blind the artist.
Komde is in despair. She can’t afford this violence and decides to deceive Karashakh. She
tells that she doesn’t like this portrait and asks to repaint it. Disgruntled Karashakh leave the
place. Komde worship the talent of the artist, and the artist is admired by her dance. Komde
helps the artist to escape from the palace.

Scene 2 “Modan”
Young people come to the city square. In the center of the square is singer and musician
Modan. Everybody likes him. The sounds of his tambourine involve all people into the dance.
The artist is also here. He admires the picture of Komde, his best creation. Modan sees the
picture. He is blind with the beauty of unknown girl.
Modan says goodbye to his friends and goes to search his fate this beautiful girl.

ACT 2
Scene 3 “Looking for Komde”
Fairground is full of people. There is a competition of musicians, singers and dancers.Modan
also comes here after his long wanderings and searching. He sings about his love.
The guards of Karashakh break unexpectedly into the square. They take away to the palace all
buffoons, musicians and singers. Modan is among these peopl

Scene 4 “Meeting”
There is a festival in the Karashakh palace. Courts are entertaining their lord. Buffoons,
musicians and singers are lead to the lord. All of them show their talent.
Everybody hears the song of Modan. Komde is amazed with the beautiful young man, who
sings beautifully about his love. As if attracted with unknown strength Komde begins to dance
to the sound of tambourine. Two hearts are singing, they are talking about their love, and no-

body is exist for both of them, there is only great love and the song of magic tambourine in the
world.
Karashakh is angry with them. He gives order to behead this insolent, who is dare to en-
trench on what is belongs to Karashakh. Only Komde’s pleas save Modan from death.
Karashakh banishes Modan from the country.
The tambourine is broken, the lovers are separated, but their hearts are together

ACT 3
Scene 5 “Modan’s dreams”
Modan, who is thirsty for love, sees Komde everywhere. Like Majnun he suffers from sepa-
ration with his darling. And even his friends can’t save him. Modan dies singing about his love,
near his friends. People mourn their favorite singer.

Scene 6 “Komde’s dreams”


Komde is sitting in the garden hugging Modan’s broken tambourine and dreams about her
beloved Modan.
Karashakh comes and destroys all dreams of Komde. He prays Komde about love. But he is
in despair, because Komde will never love him. Karashakh understands that he separated lovers,
but he couldn’t separate their hearts.
Karashakh is on the brink of insanity. It seems to him that Modan pursues him everywhere.

Scene 7 “Forever love”


The square before the palace. Modan was brought here. People are speechless, Komde is in
despair, Karashakh is shocked. Unable to survive the death of beloved Modan Komde dies. Only
death could unite lovers. Love of Komde and Modan is in the eternity.
