Project
Carefully review the material presented in this unit and the activities you have previously
completed. You should reflect on your learning, your own research, and your previous case
studies within this unit.
Complete the following project tasks, and submit all of the required documentation.

Task 1
You have completed the project scope plan as part of your case study assessment in this unit.
Develop a project plan. Attached is a project plan template that you may wish to use.
Alternatively, you can use one from your workplace. You should ensure that your project plan
adheres to the following steps.

 Step 1 - You need to consult with the project team when planning the project. List four
aspects on which you would consult the project team about, including whom you would
consult.
 Step 2 - What legislation will you need to be aware of when undertaking the project? Give
two examples.
 Step 3 - Create a project plan, with a schedule, budget, and risks. You will need to provide:
 Work breakdown structure
 A Gantt chart (there are many free Gantt chart tools on the Internet, or you may hand
draw it)
 The roles and responsibilities of the project team, including your own
 Step 4 - Explain how you would obtain approval of your project plan and from whom.

Task 2
Work through the following steps involved in administering and monitoring the project.
 Step 1 - To maintain and improve the progress of the project, all stakeholders must be aware
of their responsibilities and the tasks assigned to them. Discuss how you will ensure that this
occurs.
 Step 2 - List two concerns of the project team in this phase of the project and your plans to
address these concerns. One concern should be with respect to achieving timelines and the
other with respect to achieving quality.
 Step 3 - To reduce the risk of the project going overtime or over budget due to unforeseen
problems, you design the project control processes. In these processes, you need to include
the relevant stakeholders and what they need to do at each step as well as include the
required record keeping for managing/executing the project for the following:
 Scope, which includes how you stay in scope as well as what happens if the client
requests a change to scope
 Time
 Finances
 Resources, both human and non-human
 Quality (you can use the quality report template provided)
 Risks
 Step 4 - Provide a status report to keep your stakeholders informed of the project’s progress.
You can use the status report template provided or one from your workplace.

Task 3
The project is in the final stages. Complete the finalisation and review process for the project by
adhering to the following steps.
 Step 1 - Consider what financial documentation you need to complete and what financial
records will be important to archive. Complete the financial records for this project.
 Step 2 - Now that the project is complete, the human resources division has requested that
you explain the process that you will take in order to reassign your human resources.
 Step 3 - Explain how you will obtain client/stakeholder acceptance that the project is
complete.
 Step 4 - Create a project checklist that allows you to verify the actual project outcomes
achieved against the outcomes as stated in the project scope and project plan. When the
form is created, complete it. Would your project be considered successful?
 Step 5 - You have decided to involve the project team members in the project review process.
 Who should be involved?
 What input might they be able to provide?
 How will you involve them?
 Step 6 - What lessons have you learnt over the course of this project? Identify four key
lessons, and suggest how you would change your approach to your next project. You can use
the Lessons Learnt template or one from your workplace.
