LESSON 1: COURSE OVERVIEW
ACTIVITY
1
Read the LDM Course Overview. Reflect on the overview by answering the following questions. Write down your
insights in your Study Notebook.

1. What is the main delivery of this course?

The Learning Delivery Modalities 2 Course (LDM2) is independent learning, meaning that the
individual takes initiative in learning or attaining the learning goals without the help of others. Occasional
support is being offered but the whole learning process is decided by the individual on his/her own pace. The
great thing about this module being directed learning is that the individual can study it in their own time and
pace without external pressure.

2. How can this course help ensure that you will be able to deliver quality instruction in the
“new normal”?
The main purpose of this Learning Delivery Modalities 2 is to equipped teachers with the necessary
skills and knowledge to maximize learning to attain different learning objectives stipulated in the
curriculum. Included in this LDM is the unpacking of Most Essential Learning Competencies which teaches
us how to arrange and break competencies into smaller learning objectives to help us teach it in an effective
and efficient way. Starting with smaller pieces that students can digest and learn unlike learning a big chunk
of idea. Another thing about this LDM course is that it helps teachers to grow professionally given the
circumstances that we are all facing in this tough and challenging times. In line with the Department of
Education’s stance that education must continue despite challenges, teachers’ education and training must
also never stop.

3. What are the two support mechanisms that will help you with your learning in this course?

The two support mechanisms that will surely help me in learning this course are as follow:
1. The support, expertise, and experiences from different facilitators, teachers, and experts will be my
first support mechanism that will help me in this course.
2. My eagerness and desire to learn for me to efficiently and effectively delivers the desired outcome

ACTIVITY
LESSON 2: ORGANIZING YOUR LEARNING ACTION CELL (LAC)
Begin by refreshing your memory on the Learning Action Cell. Read DepEd Order No. 35 s. 2016 titled “The
Learning Action Cell as the K to 12 Basic Education Program School Based Continuing Professional Development
Strategy for the Improvement of Teaching and Learning.” Once you’re done, answer the following questions. Write
your responses and any other ideas and reflections in your Study Notebook.
1. Reflect on the objectives for conducting LAC sessions as listed in DO 35, s. 2016. Rank the
following objectives from easiest to the most difficult to achieve:
_1 _ To improve the teaching-learning process to improve learning among students
_3 To nurture successful teachers
_2 To enable teachers to support each other to continuously improve their content and pedagogical knowledge,
practice, skills, and attitudes
_4 _ To foster a professional collaborative spirit among School Heads, teachers, and the community as a whole

2. What are the top three challenges to having a successful LAC? List down and elaborate.
1. Stable connection – One of the most common problem of having LAC online is the intermittent
connection of participants. It hinders them the opportunity to learn at fullest and maximize it.

2. Environment – Another factor that affects the success of having LAC online is the environment.
Barking dogs, chicken, noise from neighbors, diverts our attention from the discussion.

3. Time – Many of us are busy preparing for opening of classes that is why having to meet at a specific
time that are convenient for everyone is hard.

ACTIVITY 2
According to DO 35, s. 2016, a LAC should have no less than 2 but not more than 15 members each. Get in
touch with your designated Coach or LAC Leader in forming your LACs.

See LDM Module 1 – page 5.

ACTIVITY 3
List down the members of your LAC and their respective roles in your Study Notebook.
