ABSTRACT

The Philippines used to be behind in terms of educational system

compared to other larger and more advanced countries until former

President Benigno Aquino III signed RA 10533, a law that will improve

our country's educational system, and this is where K-12 originated.

K-12 consists of two additional grade levels in secondary

school. Grade 12 students required to participate in a work immersion

in order to graduate. Work immersion is a requirement for students, in

which they are placed in an actual industry for a period of time that

is related to their chosen strand.

Work immersion was much easier for former students before the

pandemic hit the country. In this study, the researchers looked into

the impact of the pandemic on the Grade 12 ICT students of St.

Augustine Foundation Colleges – San Jose's work immersion experience.

This research would be a phenomenological study, and the

researchers have chosen convenience sampling to get the respondents'

responses as quickly as possible.

The researchers have found three major factors that pandemic

cause to the respondents work immersion and that is the Physical

Health, Transportation and Financial Status.
