• Electronic commerce or e-commerce (sometimes written as eCommerce) is


a business model that lets firms and individuals buy and sell things over the
internet.
• It refers to transactions conducted via the internet.
• The term ecommerce also encompasses other activities including online
auctions, internet banking, payment gateways, and online ticketing.

E-Business
• Shortly known as e-business, is the online presence of business.
• It can also be defined as the business which is done with the help of
internet or electronic data interchange i.e. is known as E-business.
• E-commerce is one of the important components of e-business, but it
is not an essential part
• E-business is not confined to buying and selling of goods only, but it
includes other activities that also form part of business like
providing services to the customers, communicating with employees,
client or business partners can contact the company in case if they
want to have a word with the company, or they have any issue
regarding the services

• Local ecommerce (also known as hyper-local commerce) falls under the
umbrella of Offline-to-Online commerce (O2O)
• O2O means that retailers with physical stores can (should) offer their
inventory and sell to local online shoppers in the same way online pure
plays sell to online shoppers.
• Many stores make the mistake of trying to sell online to the entire world
before maximizing the local part
• 90% of commerce is local.
• 80% of consumers search online first for local shopping.
• “Local e-commerce” should be a key part of the new Retail Store Stack.

Some of the ideas Think With Google recommends are:
• Bring your real-world magic to your online experience
• Video can boost e-commerce and in-store sales, and
• Fish where the fish are.
• But to stand out from the rest you have to do things differently.
• Don’t follow the herd, blaze your own path, and don’t be afraid to
experiment and learn, just make the experiments small and
inexpensive.

• U-Commerce stands for Ubiquitous Commerce
• The ultimate form of e-commerce and m-commerce in an ‘anytime, anywhere’
fashion.
• It involves the use of ubiquitous networks to support personalized and
uninterrupted communications and transactions at a level of value that far
exceeds traditional commerce.
• The origin and development of Ubiquitous Commerce is based on various
information and communication technologies.
• These technologies were driving forces for the evolution to business transactions
at any time and in any place and so they will be in the future.

Electronic Transaction Act Nepal
• ETA (Electronic Transaction Act) which deals with issues related to
cybercrime and help in making and implementing laws over
cybercrime.
• It has made different requirements so that if anyone found having
cybercrime, he/she will be punished according to the scene of the
crime.
• He /she can be jailed for minimum from 6 months to a maximum of 3
years and must pay the penalty according to the offense.
• But has ETA been followed strictly???
