Assembly Suggestions
1 Place bottom upside down and attach bottom strapping using 1 1/4” wood screws. (Same procedure as lid)
2 Add wood glue or construction adhesive for the added strength to all joints. Clean up residue to avoid unwanted stains.
Assemble first row using 2” brad nails to create a box. Flip base upside down and place on box and fasten together using

1 3/4” screws.
Install 4 corner posts by pre-drilling and countersinking fronts, backs and sides for 1 1/4” screws. Plug holes with wooden

plugs.
Using a 1/4” spacer set on the previous row, continue installing each row of blanket chest using same methods as the

bottom row.
6 Leave unfinished or sand and finish/paint. Make sure to remove all glue residue before finishing.
7 Add rope for handle and attach through holes in side boards. Add additional rope for a handle on lid to open and close.
Note. Suggested hinge hardware is a strap style hinge mounted on the exterior of the blanket chest.
