8 Read the students’ descriptions of their favourite places. Then complete the sentences
using one, two, three or four words. (10 marks)

Lisa My favourite place is Brighton. It’s a small city – it’s smaller than London – but there are a lot
of exciting places for young people. A lot of students live in the city. It’s very friendly. There’s a nice
beach, too, and it’s only five minutes on foot from the city centre.

Bob Glasgow, in Scotland, is my favourite place. Edinburgh is prettier than Glasgow, and it’s more
popular with tourists, but I think Glasgow is more interesting. There are some fantastic modern
buildings in Glasgow. There aren’t any beaches, but there are some nice parks.

Karen Cardiff is my favourite city. It’s the capital city of Wales. There’s a beautiful castle in the city
centre. Parts of the castle are more than 800 years old! Cardiff is a great place for music – some
great bands come from Cardiff. There are a lot of good theatres there, too.

My favourite street

My favourite street is a Kárász Street.The length of the street is 250 meters.

This street is the most famous pedestrial and meeting point of Szeged. This street

is near the Kígyó Street, it's about three minutes on foot .In this place

you will find a McDonald’s and a photo center, ice cream shop and even a KFC.There is

also a good restaurant and café on the street. There is also for children is a very nice

playground near here. The Dóm church is few minutes on foot from here.There are

some pretty statues in the area.Public areas crossing the street is Kölcsey Street,

Klauzál Space, and the Széchenyi Space. The Kárász Street. Is nine kilometers

from my home. I think this streer is better than the Oskola Street.
