LESSON PLAN
IN ENGLISH 10
December 03, 2019
I. Objectives
At the end of the class discussion, the grade 10 students should be able
to:
a. identify the five types of pronouns,
b. state the importance of pronouns in daily conversations and/or
activities, and
c. write sentences using the different types of pronouns.
Lesson Proper
A. Activity
The teacher will conduct a “find its pair game.” Every student
should pick a picture and find its pair. A student who finds the pair
of its picture will be the winner.
B. Analysis
The teacher will ask the following questions:
A. What have you observed about the subject of the
sentences I gave to you?
B. In what way does these words represent as a subject?
C. Can anyone in this class guess what will be our lesson
for today?
C. Abstraction
The teacher will now introduce the topic.
Types of Pronouns
Pronoun- is a word used as a substitute for a noun to avoid
repetition of the same noun.
1. Personal Pronouns- stand directly for names of persons,
places, things, and ideas.

Examples:
He served as the municipal mayor for three
consecutive terms.
They participated in the ousting of the abusive
barangay leader.
2. Demonstrative Pronouns- point definitely to persons, things,
or concepts to which they refer.
Examples:
This is my community.
Those political ideologies came from the impeached
president.
3. Indefinite Pronouns- point out to no particular person, place,
thing, or concept.
Examples:
Somebody must rule the people.
Few of the leaders are honest.
Any other remedies will be tried.
4. Relative Pronouns- refer to antecedents, at the same time,
introduce dependent clauses. WHO applies to persons; WHAT
applies to things; THAT can refer to either persons, animals,
concepts, or inanimate objects; WHICH is not applied to persons,
but refers to animals, inanimate objects, ideas, concepts, or
feelings.
Examples:
The municipal treasurer who keeps the
financial records was reported missing since
Tuesday.
The written petition, which you delivered, is
missing.
5. Interrogative Pronouns- ask fact questions.
Examples:
Who are elected barangay officials?
What are the problems that came out because
of the leader’s negligence?
D. Application
The teacher will group the students into 5 groups. Each group will
write at least 5 sentences using the different types of pronouns.
IV. Evaluation

Search for an English article. Encircle its pronoun and identify whether it is
personal pronoun, demonstrative pronoun, interrogative pronoun, relative
pronoun, or indefinite pronoun. Write PP if it is personal pronoun, DP if it is
demonstrative pronoun, IP if it is interrogative pronoun, RP if it is relative
pronoun and IN if it is indefinite pronoun.
