The unit plan outlines a 6-day lesson on mixtures and their characteristics for a Grade 6 Science class. The lessons will cover heterogeneous mixtures, solutions, colloids, suspensions, and separating mixtures. Students will learn to distinguish between different types of mixtures and demonstrate how to separate mixtures. On the final day, students will complete a performance task where they take on the role of chemists cleaning up an oil spill by separating mixtures.
