Instructions:

7. Provide relevant, original and conceptual answers, as this exam aims to test your ability to
examine, explain, modify or develop concepts discussed in class.

Use the file provided by the invigilator and complete all the configuration only on the file provided.
There are 3 subnets assigned to different VLANs as per the following requirement:
Network: 172.16.0.0/16 Default Subnet: 255.255.0.0
o Subnet the provided network such that subnet mask will become 255.255.252.0 after sub-
netting and provide the following VLANs with their names (6 marks)
o Subnet 1 – VLAN 22 - Students
o Subnet 2 – VLAN 33 - Faculty
o Subnet 3 – VLAN 44 - Management
o VLAN 10 – Native VLAN

PVST is to be implemented in the scenario present in the above diagram. Explain why it is not suitable to
implement SW-A as root bridge for all VLANs in the topology. In your opinion which switch among the
available switches (SW-A, SW-B and SW-C) should be Root Bridge for each VLAN and how it helps
resolve the problems that are present in the current scenario?
