Over the next five months you will be learning the language of biology! You can expect to do approximately 30 to 60 minutes of homework for each class. This would include reviewing class notes, reading, taking notes and answering questions from the text, worksheets, labs, projects and practice test questions.
EVALUATION: Course Work (Tests, Quizzes, Assignments, Projects & Labs = 80% Final Exam = 20%
G, S OR N WORK HABITS: This will be assessed based on your preparation, attendance, assignment completion (on time), effort on class work, participation in class, tardiness, and behaviour in class. “Good”, “Satisfactory” or “Needs Improvement” will be assigned.
INCOMPLETE COURSE WORK: ANY incomplete course work (ie. Not Handed In or NHI) will result in an ‘I’ being assigned for the course. This emphasizes the importance of completing ALL course work. If you have an outstanding test, lab or project at the time of an interim or report card, you will NOT be given a percentage grade, just an “I” so that your parents know that the course is Incomplete.
