II - Credit- hour: 03
IV - Course Description: This course is designed to provide the students with a mix
of knowledge on Leadership & Management Skills. Key issues in applied form will be
dealt with to provide the students to get understanding about the principles,
concepts and tenets of leadership, as well as that of management skills. The course
deals with issues of leadership, managing an organization, management process
and major functions and the roles of managers in creating wealth and efficient cost-
effective utilization of resources both material and human. The course deals with
major leadership theories and various styles of leadership. Leadership is a complex
process by which the leader influences others to perform and achieve. The
leadership attributes – belief, values, ethics, character, knowledge and skills –are all
traits, which can be learned. This course provides the basis for understanding what
leadership is and what leaders do to be successful. This course also deals with
management skills, competencies and management responsibilities. It evaluates
some of the suggested traits and characteristics that leaders should have. Finally,
this course would make an endeavor to orient the students with the latest theories
and techniques of leadership & management skills so that they can develop a
professional approach to solving management problems.

VII - Course Requirements
Students should have sufficient knowledge both theoretical and practical about
leadership & management skills. The teaching approach in this course will be a
practical one with more and more application of theory. More emphasis will be given
on case work, group exercise, group discussion and presentation supplemented by
lecture. Students are expected to come prepared with the reading materials so that
they can take part in the group discussion sharing their real life experiences.
