A web services data plan subscription provides cloud storage, data visualization, notifications (alerts), and data
management for the DXM. Activating a cellular data plan allows the DXM to communicate using the cellular network. Data
plans can be purchased at secure.bannercelldata.com.
Company
A Company contains one or more DXM Controllers (gateways/edge devices).
Conglomerate
A Conglomerate is a group of two or more Companies.
Data Point
A Data Point is a single website storage element organized by a timestamp and contains a register value. The value
can represent a temperature, humidity, distance, or various other sensor readings.
The allotted data upload rate (data limit) is applied at the Conglomerate level and is shared by the underlying
Companies. For those subscriptions having multiple Conglomerates, the data limitat is applied at the multi-
conglomerate level and is shared by the underlying Conglomerates.
Gateways
A gateway is a storage location for a single DXM Wireless Controller; several gateways can be contained within a
Company.
Users
Unique logins to the web site. Only one Username can be logged in at a time.
In this example, a single DXM is configured to push 85 registers of data every 10 minutes, resulting in 510 data points per
hour uploaded to the web server. The Data Point Estimator suggests the Starter web service plan for this application.
Important: The account may be locked if the data limit is exceeded for an extended period of time. Banner
will make a substantial effort to engage with an account administrator or representative of equal
ownership to remedy the violation before locking the account.

4 Configuration Instructions
4.1 Create an FTP Backup
1. On the website, go to Settings > Backups.
2. In the upper right corner of the screen, click + New Report.
The first time you select Require Authentication, a pop-up box appears with additional instructions. Since the data is
not stored in the XML configuration file, it is hidden from view of the DXM Configuration Software.
4. Click on Send Authentication.
The controller must be connected to the PC for this operation to succeed.
The data transmits directly to the DXM Controller's non-volatile memory. If successful, a pop-up window appears,
asking to reboot the device.
5. Select Yes to reboot the device.
