3. Write a paragraph and discuss the answers of the following questions.

A. describing the gradation and selection of the vocabulary and grammatical structures in the textbook.
B. Why do you think such items have been included? Is the textbook and its vocabulary and grammatical items appropriate for EFL learners in your own teaching context?
As we know, every textbook has vocabulary and grammatical structures included in
its content. I want to inform you about these structures. In this textbook, simple
structures are taught before complex structures. Grammar topics are divided into
units from easy to difficult. For example, the simple past and past continuous tense
was taught as grammar in the first unit. Likewise, basic words were used in the first
unit. In my opinion, the teachability of words is always important in textbooks. This
book evokes words through related pictures or demonstration. In addition,
considering the similarity, the words were selected according to how close they are
to the native language. I can say that very compatible words were chosen in terms of
availability. Besides, if we look at the word frequency, quite basic words are used in
the units, in other words, the words are selected according to the level of the book. I
think it is necessary to include items such as vocabulary and grammatical in the
content of textbooks. These items are important for students to learn what topics
will be covered in each unit before they start working on textbooks. The last point I
want to mention is that this textbook is appropriate for EFL learners in terms of
vocabulary and grammatical items in my own teaching context.
