BACKGROUND ON PROJECT CHOSEN

The reasons why this project was chosen were:

 It was much easier to do an internal project; this means we save a lot of

time and money.
 The event was a calendared one on the school curriculum hence we did not
have to source time.
 Equipment and Facilities were readily available to carry out our task.
 It was a real life event hence we felt we needed this challenge to help prod
us to organize well.
 It lends itself to work with different people with different insight, ability and
thus we all got our desired role because of the versatility of the event.
COMPETITION FORMAT

a 2 day period. It kicked off on feburary 16, 2017, at 10 am with the heats of all
track events. The field events Discuss, Shot Put, Long Jump were contested on
feburary 17, 2017. All finals were contested such as the 100m, 200m, 400m,

ROLE DESCRIPTION

I worked in the Marshalling area at the event. My role was to carry the athlete to
the area where they would start their events. I allowed them to walk with me in a
straight line to the starting point. When I got there I handed them over to the
officials waiting there. Whenever there was a query with the participants I took a
paper with the event and participants to the recording area for clarification.

Personal Reflection
BEFORE THE EVENT
I had a meeting with my Physical Education teacher, then went to get chairs and
desk to work with.

DURING THE EVENT

During the event I worked at the marshal area along with some of my school and
classmates. I brought paper to and from the other groups that are working as well
and also take the runners to the starting lines.

AFTER THE EVENT

After the event I went back to meet with my Physical Education teacher Mr.
Hamilton for another meeting then take back the desk and chairs to the
classroom.
