Ms.

Wellener’s Classroom Norms & Discipline Plan

Classroom Norms & Expectations: 6 P’s

1. Prompt: Students are expected to be seated in the classroom at the time of the bell, and
begin working on their warm-up activity.

2. Prepared: Students are expected to arrive to class each day with all required materials.

3. Polite: Students are expected to respect themselves, their peers, their teacher, and the
classroom environment.

4. PMA (Positive Mental Attitude): Students are expected to interact with others in the
classroom using respectful and positive language. Student should practice good manners,
as well as add to the positive environment.

5. Participate: Students are expected to participate in class and group activities.

6. Produce: Students are expected to try their best and stay on task throughout class time.

Discipline Plan: The following steps will be followed in the classroom to address student
behavior.

Step 1: Private Warning/”Signal”

I will let a student know that their behavior is unacceptable through proxemics, nonverbal cues,
or another private and discrete method that does draw attention to the student.

Step 2: 3x Verbal Warning

The student will receive 3 quick verbal warnings that include a reminder of the expected
behavior.

Step 3: Private Conference

The student will be asked to step outside with Ms. Wellener to quickly discuss their behavior.
Depending on the situation, the student may be given the opportunity to take a lap around the
school to regroup.

Step 4: Reflection Form

The student will be asked to complete a Reflection Form that asks the student to explain their
behavior, state why that behavior was unacceptable, and what they can do to change it.

Step 5: After-School Detention

After 3 reflection forms in one marking period, the student will be assigned (1) day of after
school detention.

Step 6: Office Referral

Administration will get involved at this point.
Restitution:
The students, parents and teacher will have a conference to discuss a consequence that repairs
any damages that may apply or relates directly to the misbehavior.

These procedures are put in place to create a positive learning environment for all students. I
may diverge from these steps in extreme circumstances.
