Actm CS16

The document is an Advance Correction Slip issued by the Ministry of Railways in India updating regulations for power line crossings over railway tracks. It replaces the table in Clause 17.3 of the previous manual to include new minimum vertical clearance requirements. The updated table provides clearance heights for overhead power line crossings at different voltages for both conventional and double stack container routes. It also reintroduces Clause 21.0 which had previously been deleted.

(b) In case of existing crossings a special clearance study shall be made as indicated in Clause
21.1 of ACTM to be reintroduced as under: ~
'-
Clause 21.1 It is desirable to provide maximum possible clearances in the case of
(revised) power line from the highest traction conductor used for electric traction.
Based on the clearance study, reduced clearances, with approval of ErG,
and subject to observance of clearances in Column 4 of Table in Para 17.3
may be adopted.

Clause 21.2 Such reduced clearances would be subject to any special safeguards that
(Revised) may be prescribed by EIG while granting these relaxations.

Clause 21.3 Wherever feasible, special design of tr'J,ction overhead equipment, return
(Revised) conductor, 2S kY feeder or other power line on traction mast/structure
should be developed keeping in view the" need for economy and other
requirements, if any.
